This...but even my best friend wouldn't side with me if I decided to steal someones money just because mine was stolen.

And everyone, stop with the damn analogies...there is only ONE that works and makes any sense and that is....Player A and Player B made an agreement to transfer funds amongst each other. Player A made the transfer, Player B didn't, Player B owes Player A every last red cent.

It doesn't matter if Hambone's account was actually hacked or not. Once those poker funds hit hambone's account, he is obligated to pay bcgt178 for those funds.

Period.
+1. Period. Any updates on this roid monkey douche?

No.

My arguments were if he his 2+2 account were breached as well and that he was completely innocent, something which is probably not true in this case.

Guys, shoemaker was under the impression that hombone had nothing to do with this trade. As in all his accounts were hacked and he had no part in arranging the deal. In this case it is less clear cut as to who owes what. That doesn't seem to be the case here, but just wanted to clarify for those giving him a hard time.

Just a quick update on my end, even tho everyone has already came to their own conclusions. Both my two plus two, poker, e-mail, and bank accounts were used. I had a ton of PM's from my account sent to people trying to make a transfer. If you notice from *MY* transactions, my only method I ever used was chase quikpay. This is both to send and recieve. I had one instance of a small transaction with fifth third because I was in the area for the week. I feel terrible for what happened and hope the situation gets resolved asap. But let this seriously be a lesson to people trading. I never in a million years expected anyone to send someone with less then 50 posts first, let alone not in increments. I've dealt with trading with highly reputable people for a reason in the past. I never wanted this to happen to me. I definitely am not trying deflecting any blame, but seriously just want to state this situation could have easily been avoided with a little bit of cautiousness and research.

You aren't coming across as an innocent victim in this and for good reason, you aren't. None of your actions during any of this has led us to believe anything else.

Just because *Your* past transactions have always been by a different means "except that one, but come on that doesn't count right???" doesn't mean anything.

So if your bank account is hacked/compromised what's the problem? You file an affidavit and police report and you get your money back immediately. Don't tell you don't, I have been the victim of identity theft and know the ins and outs like the back of my hand. Your money is most definitely back in your checking/savings after this amount of time (mine took 2 days and that was because I had to wait for the police report to show up since it was a weekend).

Explain the IP address situation? It has been mentioned that your IP was used during this. Let me guess, your roommate, best friend, random guy you met at a bar came home with you, tied you up and spent a week playing on stolen money until it was gone then released you so you could come back and post here? Phew, glad you are ok

I also find it quite disgusting that you deflect blame at the end of your post under the guise of not doing so. That's no different than when someone says No Offense..BUT (get ready to be offended).

Can't resist posting after reading this update. Hope it doesn't come across as troll-like comments from a newbie. The more I think about it, I cannot figure out how someone sends 9k to someone with 48 posts or whatever. There are plenty of more reputable people he could have made a deal with, no doubt. An IM conversation is is NOT due dilegence. There is a lesson here, for OP and others. As for this debate over who's responsibility it is, consider this: If my best friend agrees to loan me 10k and that money hits my bank account, I would owe him 10k. Should something happen to the money, I would never tell him that it is somehow his fault. Situation shouldn't be any different here. Our word means everything.

UNLESS... every one of villain's accounts were hacked. Then he never really made a deal to begin with. Even the Defense Department is capable of being hacked, no one is safe. We have seen zero evidence of this, though, to date.

Bah. My 2 cents.

This is what I'm currently focused on.

There was no progress made over the weekend, but none was expected, as Hambone4k explained to me beforehand that he wouldn't be online. We resumed contact today, and his cooperation is unchanged.

I can't imagine what Hambone4k thinks of me, but I have the notion he recognizes I'll be relentless in pursuit of factual details.

shark, I too have been a victim of identity theft about 6 years ago and every year or two get someone trying to open an account in my name. I already filed affidavits with my bank as soon as I was able to, as I couldn't do it over the phone. My bank account was the smallest amount because of fraud detection text message I got sometime the first week of march.

As for the IP address situation, I don't know anything about what you are talking about with it.

Hambone,
How is it that someone kept playing on your account for a full week after all this took place? I would assume as soon as you saw a problem with your accounts you would have contacted all sites and instructed them to freeze your accounts until it was straightened out. It doesn't look good that someone has been playing sitngos through the week with OP's money.

It is my understanding that the two people who benefited from this were cash game regulars on lock poker. Is this correct? If so, who else did they crush in cash games? Do they play a lot at the same tables?
These are very important questions to ask,
Primarily because anyone who is sly enough to hack into ALL of hambones accounts to pull this off, surely would not just go an degen it off to a couple random regulars on merge.... I guess it is possible, even if he/she was a degenerate, I think losing the funds to a girlfriends account or something makes way more sense.

It is possible to do. If the computer was hacked you could trace it. It may not even be in the country for all you know. But my problem with the story has to do with someone was still playing on the account after the reported hacker story. Wouldn't you try and put a stop to someone playing on your account immediately? The amount of play continued for a few days IIRC.

Here's the thread made by ostensibly Hambone "reporting" the hacks.
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...at-do-1177006/

It's pretty easy from there. When is Merge notified by him? How much play comes after that? Why the **** does he wait an entire day after getting a phone call from his friend to check in here asking whether he should do something about it?

No hacker in the history of ever would make that thread. So he has control over his two plus two account at that point.

When did you regain control over your accounts? When did you contact merge? When did they get back to you and what did they say? Why did it take you forever to make any post other than that thread after this all happened?

You make this post in HSPLO. Notice the time and date. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...3&postcount=16
16 hours later you've miraculously been hacked, had a buddy call you after seeing you play crazy the day before, and now have sauntered back to ask if there are things you should do about it. 16. hours. later.
You were posting on the account earlier that day, and multiple times the day before.

WHEN DID YOUR 2+2 account get hacked? When did this transfer take place?

Sry for not updating in awhile, I was on vacation for a week and did not expect this thread to pick up like it has.

I will be in contact with Clamper and am happy to answer any questions here that people have.

I have conclusions that I have drawn from the information I've seen (what everyone referenced here as well as specific times my interactions with Hambone were, info from LockShane and Lock's security people etc). That being said I'm not going to spout angry **** I just want the truth to come out and to get my money back.

Hambone has contacted me (took long enough) and said "get in touch with me at hisemail@gmail.com I have no interest in discussing this in an open forum, I can give you all the details you want there." I respect him wanting to stay private but it is a lot easier to hold him responsible with more people following the situation so I will update if/when he answers the email I just sent him.
