You dont get it do you?. It isnt about 26 its about what it represents. Say you lose the 26 (most likely scenario) then the next time you have some money online you keep a little more and then lose it again, it'll just get you in a deeper hole and make us wait longer. Plus your debt would have been half if you didnt try to run up half the money think about that.

roman - there are such things as PM's. And there's no need to update on every single penny you are getting in the future. Just post in the transfer thread and send people pm's.

This guy should be branded in the text thing under his name as a scammer and not to be trusted. In fact i brought this up ages ago that it should be standard practice as soon as a reasonable case of suspicion that a guy is a scammer can be found.

[Phil] - This sounds like a decent idea to me but not sure if it's best or not.

Some thoughts on branding him with the "scammer" title as well as on the scamming stuff and transfer threads in general:

Not everyone reads the transfer thread in here yet still is gullible enough to perhaps do it via PM's and so forth.
I guess the reason these transfer threads are kept open in the Zoo and in other forums is so that there can be more supervision and hopefully can catch more of these guys instead of letting them all run like wild without the info in one place like that. In other words, the scamming would supposedly be worse if there were no transfer threads even though it is also a magnet to the scammers obviously.

I'm kind of undecided on it but evidently far more successful transfers between decent people are facilitated by such threads.

Anyway, your idea has some consequences potentially that it would just encourage people like him to make a new account even faster. I think the idea has merit but I'm just not sure whether or not it would be for the best.
Not a bad idea to bring up for consideration in ATF though.

I admit I don't know too much about this transferring stuff. I used to be really opposed to such threads because I was mostly thinking, "Why on earth are we making it EASIER for scammers to have a place to rip people off?"
But the argument was made that the transfers were going to happen regardless at it can all either happen behind closed doors and via PM's or in a public thread where somebody else can chime-in "that guy was okay" or "that guy was late paying me" or whatever.

Amazingly though...a guy like roman racks up 1k posts...many of which were brilliant essays about how he really thinks FT is rigged (even though he still wants to play there) and other kind of silly stuff like that. But he still was able to pull off something like this "based on his reputation" supposedly which I would have THOUGHT would have been the opposite of "good" from the posts of his that I have seen.

Bob this wasnt my intention in this forum, and I have made many usefull posts on here. And only have less than 800 posts.

I've been following the transfer threads for a long time now. Way before the current person to person thread. Deep in the two plus two archives from the previous forum, you will find a similar situation where a poster named ninjasomethingcantcrememberhisname did a similar thing. Trusted trader with multiple successful transfers, then went rogue one day and also had a list of people he owed money to. Also stuck around on 2+2 and did pay off some of his debts. Can't remember if he payed everyone back though.

Mike Haven probably remembers more of it than I do.

cardman - I remember some of the ninja-guy although didn't follow it that closely.
not sure I was aware that he had a previous history of not scamming people but I guess to rack up that much debt and that many scams so quickly he needed a positive transfer-rep first.

I wouldn't go only by post counts or previous successful transfers either. Or even both. I do have good guesses though as to who are likely to be trustworthy. Their 2+2 names:

Note their post counts are under 2000 but I just have a feeling about them. Of course those are only guesses as to the most trustworthy and they might prove me wrong in the future. Who knows. LOL.

Guy was a huge ass though.. When someone would say how much scum he was he would threaten to not pay his debts.
