I don't post on here that often, but I do a good bit of trades and I read the transfer thread. Someone gets ripped off about once every two days with no restitution and no remorse from the scammer.

People getting their money stolen really sucks and RW sucks for doing it. He may be a serial thief/degenerate/compulsive gambling/wife beater for all I know. I do know that for once I've seen a guy try to pay back for his mistake, say that he's not a thief, and that he still respected the members of this community enough to try and make this right. It looks like you've gone way out of your way to piss him off and get him to abandon the community he's trying to remain a member of.

If it was me that he owed money to, I would have told you to shut up a long time ago.

I sincerely hope RW gets everyone paid however long it takes to do it. He'll feel better about it along with the people that are owed. I don't know how old he is, but hopefully this will be a life lesson. Not only for RW but for the scammee’s too.

MAKE PEOPLE SHOW YOU THAT THEY HAVE PLENTY OF ONLINE FUNDS BEFORE YOU TRADE! Follow that and all the other advice that’s in the OP of the xfer thread and you’ll go a long way toward avoiding situations like this in the future.

RW, at the current rate it could take over a year to clear the debt. Your plan may require adjustment.

Assuming he doesn't work for somebody with an HR department full of people with gambling problems, he probably has.

RW's paycheck, for whatever reason, isn't going towards retiring this debt. If he resorted to theft, he probably doesn't have any income to put in the poker community, regardless of his alleged income or expenses.

That means he has to get more income or sell assets.

You have some sort of IT job. You can do contract work on Elance and get paid half up front. You can post under the services section on Craigslist in multiple cities. You can put flyers with phone number tags in supermarkets and convenience store bulletin boards offering to help people with their computer problems for $35/hr. Price yourself low, rack up some hours, and you'll be paid off in a few weeks.

Or you can sell/pawn (and buy back later) assets. You have multiple computers. You have access to discounted hard drives. The typical home has tens of thousands of dollars worth of things that can be sold and bought back before anybody else in the house notices they're gone.

I'm not going to call you names, I'm just pointing out that the current schedule ($20/week) is not reasonable. This is not a lot of money to pull together.

Danger, GM just wants everyone to shut up and not deter roman from the point of this thread, whether it's by discouraging him with insults, random posts, etc.

He's in a very tough spot (his fault), but piling on him won't help. That's why GM just wants to weed out the crap, so he can deal with just the issue of payment and not having to defend himself to others.

I think that was tested out several days. It turns out there's been an inverse relationship between people leaving the thread alone and debtors getting paid.

I agree that "You're a scumbag" and "Logically explain illogical behavior" over and over isn't helpful, but there should also be some kind of social pressure and support, if possible, to retire the debt.
