Overall its a good change,
but you might want to reconsider the dealing speed during a "Milestone" hands, as basically its almost always going to be an All-In hand. I think it would add more to the moment if it happened at "Regular/Old" speed, rather than the new faster speed.

Based on player feedback, the time taken to deal the turn and river cards when all-in has been increased slightly to 1.5 seconds. This duration had recently been decreased from 2 seconds to 1 second, so the new setting is still a bit faster than it was earlier this year but not quite as swift.

The change will not immediately impact all tournaments or ring game tables. Newly deployed tournaments and newly created ring game tables will be affected.

anybody have a # of hands per hr on fast tables vs normal speed tables now for both fr & 6max?.... it looks like a big difference from the lobby atleast

OK, it's only my livelihood affected on rather a large scale because these idiots are worse than facebook in the sense of forever ****ing fixing what isn't broken cause they've got nothing else to do, but that's nothing to get in a paddy about is it? doomswitch operator has the night off.
I still have time to scan and mod a couple of forums.

What am I missing?

You're not a results oriented fish like me (well I would be if I weren't US based)

The original 2 seconds/card was a little slow, even for a fish like me, but 1 second/card was too fast (for me) to process.

Hopefully the compromise of 1.5 secs is good, and the lack of negative responses to PokerStarsSteve's announcement suggests its not a bad move.
