Maybe it is fair but this is not what they made it sound like in the beginning when they announced the rake changes.
I thought they would reduce the rake like 50% across everything. Maybe only 20% for the 16$ which was cheap to begin with.
I thought that maybe I would be compelled to start playing at stars instead of tilt.
Seems that I either missinterpretated their earlier statements or they gave false hopes.
I guess their intention was to lower it but post black friday they lost so many customers they had to increase it...

But they will loose so many grinders because at some stakes the edges are really tiny and now with a little rake increase some stakes will be hard to beat...

But w/e **** stars I go back to euro rooms much much better

-Overall, we are told these changes mean a slight reduction in rake.

-The rake reductions mostly come at the higher stakes.

-Rake at lower/mid stakes has actually been increased for some formats. (wtf)

-High stakes sng players mostly have a much higher rakeback %age than lower stakes players. This means that rake paid at lower stakes is worth more to Stars.

- Ergo, these changes actually entail an increase in SnG rake paid (wtfwtf).

27man SNGs have slighty different payout:

5$+0.50$ 27man:

Old system New System
Prizepool:$135 $135
1st $50 $50.03
2nd $36 $36
3rd $24 $24
4th $14 $13.99
5th $11 $10.98

Is the 3 cents difference really worth? Is it for purpose or bug?

Increased rake in the games that still have some traffic and decreased rake in games that barely ever run since black friday? Talking about 9man turbos.

Although the rake may seem to have gone up, doing something was necessary for stars to stop the glut of $16 grinders and making the games less uniformly profitable as you moved above the $16 level. Here the talent will be better spread out across the levels, possibly improving the profitability for players of the low and mid-stakes games.

Anyways shouldn't all the supernova elite wannabees be happy about paying more rake so they can make SNE? (not serious)

zero

Agree with most people here, the rake increasement is a complete joke.
10%+ rake for Multi Table SNGs?WTF?

THanks for the new games like hyperturbos etc but the rake increasement breaks it alot.

Also, I am surprised there is no buyin level between $50 and $100. Even though the doubling of buyins looks pretty, a much more utilitarian approach would have been $50, 80, $120, 200

OK this is pretty dumb but what really should be changed is heads up lobbies. Before there was only one lobby open at a time per level. now there's no limit? So just 10 different regs are gonna be sitting in lobbies now? so stupid

Can't you just show 1 SNG per buyin? This is such a mess when I try to find the right SNG.

Higher rake is good because you get more FPP and easier to get SuperNova ELITE.

Agree, probably the biggest fail in the history of pokerstars. Glad I am moving a lot of my action off, I was waiting on these changes to decide whether or not to come back, easy decision now - they basically just took every game in which they had a better rake than Full Tilt and increased the rake so it is no longer better. LOL.

Oh wow, I can't play on stars anymore but I have to say I am very surprised by these changes, especially with all the anticipation leading up to these changes. Certainly these changes do not sound consistent with what the players wanted as stated by OP....
