Hello,

Your withdrawal has been placed on hold as we have determined that the funds you are withdrawing originate from recent deposits made to your account. We are not implying any wrong doing but ask that you please explain the reason for withdrawing these funds.

Please be aware that if we do not receive a response from you within 30 days, your withdrawal will be canceled and your account frozen.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Stars sent me the above recently. I have had a fairly good year there and I decided to withdraw some funds recently. I have always used instadebit for deposits and withdrawls and nothing on my account has changed since I opened it years ago.

I don't have an issue with security queries but the blocked text in the above quote seems questionable. I don't think I should ever have to explain what I want my own money for.

Did you make a deposit for the MiniBonus on Friday then submit a withdrawal not long afterwards (without much play)? They have a rule you need to earn a certain amount of VPP's between deposit and withdrawal, something like 20VPP/$100.

I have not made a deposit in several months. The funds being withdrawn are funds that I have built up playing since the summer.

The whole premise of this email from Stars is suspect and the question is concerning. There is really no good reason for me to get this letter.

Weird. Hopefully just a mistake (Stars support are fairly incompetent nowadays) and not anything ominous for winning players.

I'm in a similar situation. Initiated a cashout, was prompted with a window that stated that my cash out is pending and I need to contact the security team. I've sent them an email, 3 days, no reply at all.

My account has always been in good standings, fully verified. Unfortunately I strongly think pokerstars is going down

I'm certainly not looking to defend Stars but their email to you is very clear. Now either they have made a mistake or you made a recent deposit you forgot about, either way it is easily cleared up.

If indeed no deposit has been made in many months simply ask them to tell you which specific deposit they have concerns with, and note the amount of play you have done since then. Tell them you assume that this is an error on their part, and it is fair to express displeasure with their language, but if they really need to know - well, ok, you planned on using the money to make it rain at Burger King or something and ask if they need photos of the event after for confirmation. You can include a picture of that company's creepy King mascot to show you are serious. Snarky, sure, but something like this will perhaps make them appreciate that how they speak to their customers matter.

Oh, be sure you have not made a recent deposit or received a transfer beforehand, just to be safe.

I doubt they were intending to be rude here, but they were (assuming it is their error) so it is fair to make them accountable for that. I have to also say that email (particularly the account frozen line) does not sound like a real email from Stars as well. I assume it is genuine, but always better to be safe than sorry on that.

Best of luck, curious to see how this gets resolved.

I received this email when making a withdrawal a few months ago, it was kinda weird as I even got a reply from them mentioning money laundering which was nonsense considering it was a withdrawal of like 50 EUR or less :P

The reason why I received this email was because I made a deposit and then a withdrawal within a day of two without playing much and it seemed weird to them (no bonus/promotion was used). I explained to them that I simply changed my mind and wanted to withdraw the money to use them on another site (for sports betting) and the withdrawal went through.

You shouldn't have any issues clearing this up, it seems that Pokerstars Support made a mistake since you're saying you haven't made a deposit recently (they thought you did).

Isnt Stars doing everything in their ability to try to cator to recreational players and gamblers? I imagine the vast majority of NEW potential net depositors are accustomed to initially depositing, playing a little and withdrawing quickly as they are accustomed to in a physical casino. It seems if they send these emails out on the regular for such occurance they will scare away the very players theyre trying to attain.

they might scare some but its +ev overall for them

besides that they delay withdrawals depending on playing behaviour (e.g. if you lost a lot and make a withdrawal)

i got these infos from a few guys playing casino games for big amounts

So, why do you want to withdraw funds?

They are only human, and no doubt they can see what other sites you visit a lot. Like me, they are probably curious if you are intending to waste your money on buying ****s or ******s from the likes of ****.com or ******.com.

It's worse than questionable, imo, and your reasons for making a withdrawal are absolutely none of their business. I would be very tempted to troll them by saying "hookers and blow" (or something wittier), but I think it's probably better to say "I don't recall making any recent deposits. Have I been sent this message in error?"

I assume you haven't received any player transfers recently.

The response:

"Please let me offer my sincere apologies for the unsatisfactory service you have recently endured and for the delay answering your emails.

We have approved your cashout and it has been sent for processing."

I only sent two emails and one was a polite wtf. I do appreciate the apology.

gg Stars.
