The deeper the stacks in Poker, the more skill comes in, the bigger mistakes a poor player can make, the more luck goes out the window and the truly good players rise to the top. The more you take away skill from the game, the more you bastardize that game and make it not "real". Maybe you should go buy the game of "Life" from toys r us and roll some dice, that's what shortstacking is like for poker.

Thanks Stars for making a move in the right direction, this should help to extend the life of online poker! Now we just need to get some US Legislation passed and we'll be sitting pretty. It would help if ALL poker players would unite to help make that happen!
You make completelt false analogies. SSing is just a different strategy to beat a previous strategy. Like the Cleveland Browns passing attack in the late 1940's that devastated the NFL. Like the way Buddy Ryan's 46-defense revolutionized defense. Now pro football looks very different from even the 80s or 90s. Get a grip on yourself.

Oh hai, you people still reading this? It's been just shy of 3 months and NLHE is beating CAP by more than 3 to 1. The games are rocking. Money is flying. Talented players are making money, Stars is making rake, and EVERYONE is having a premiere poker playing experience at the tables whether they are winning or losing. And, regulated online poker in the United States looks like it's in our future. Celebrate good times, INDEED.

As of April 2, 2011 @ ~4:00 PM EST on a SATURDAY:

165 tables @ $50NL 100bb MAX
11 tables @ $50NL 250bb MAX
56 tables @ $50 20bb CAP

Hopefully we can boot CAP to its own tab and we'll all be @ poker peace will ourselves

Shame you wont be part of premier poker experience there.

Tip for you - get used to the phrase 'would you like fries with that?'

FFS. I probably argued against Phatty about this topic more than anyone else on 2+2, and interacting with the guy sets my teeth on edge.

But still, does this argument really need a bump? This is just pure rage trolling. What happened last Friday sucks for everyone. Bumping this thread to take a final shot at one poster is the epiotme of being childish.

I disagree with the changes stars made, but they were made months ago. It's done. The argument is over, and it's totally unrelated to the US lockout issue. I don't want anyone locked out from online poker.

Disagreeing with someone is one thing, part of normal discourse. Mocking their misfortune is just cruel and immature.

How would you know if I am or will be playing at PokerStars? But, I get it. You're apparently a ratholer whose feathers were ruffled and instead of using your regular account, created a new account to try to declare some type of "victory" now that Stars doesn't serve US customers. Everyone who enjoys poker "loses" regarding that development. And, don't worry about me. I'll continue to make money at poker at other sites, casinos, and home games like I always do. I adapt. And, just like the 50bb max fiasco, which DID pass, so too will this latest travesty. Online poker will be regulated in the US at some point and I, and others, will be making more money than we ever have.

Furthermore, I play poker as a fun way to make several thousand dollars. I certainly don't need it, as I've stated before:
