PokerStars notes randomly wiped

I'm not sure where else to post this really but is there anything I can do to recover Stars player notes?

I was was playing yesterday when the client freaked out and then froze and after restarting the client EVERY note and custom colour scheme had been wiped.

I have contacted support and they said to check the file/folder the notes are saved on my computer but the note file in there now seems to have been wiped and is back to a couple of KB's.

I haven't got a clue where they could have gone as I wasn't doing anything other than playing zoom poker at the time, no deleting or messing with any files.

No idea if this would work, but did you check recycle bin or use Recuva to search for the files on your hard drive?

An interesting bug. No site is safe here and I have been semi-regularly saving my notes and settings, having the paths on my desktop to make it easier.

Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately neither worked. God knows why this has happened, I have had notes on Stars for 10/15 years and this is the first time it has happened.

I guess I will have to start a fresh, Really annoying but not the end of the world.

This issue has been around for years, or at least it was discussed years ago. If you search the forums you may find some past discussions on it, but IIRC the notes can't be retrieved.

What's the difference between making backups of HUD database and making backups of PS notes?

If you forget a to make a backup and one of the "systems" (database or PS) crashes, you will loose the information in both cases.

From my point of view PS notes have one big advantage: In case that PS changes the software and the HUD doesn't work immediately after this change, notes will not be available if you use HUD notes; PS notes will always work.

Maybe you could use System Restore to try to restore your computer to a point before this happened. If the notes, etc. are saved locally, maybe that would work.
