Rush poker allowed me to pee like a human being. To have a conversation if someone happened to knock on my door. To answer my phone. To eat, if I became hungry. Rush poker nurtured me. Rush poker was there. And then they took it... they took it away.

my biggest concern with a rush-like poker variant is that it seems to encourage recreational players to play a lot tighter(why play 96o when you can just fold and immediately get dealt a new hand?)
werent the rush tables just super nitty at FTP? how about winrates in comparison to normal games?

Most people had a lot smaller winrates but most of the regs had much bigger $/h same with bb/100. That are just my assumptions cause for people like me the bb/100 were bigger. Just playing 4 tables rush was like 16-tabling normal tables so it was way easier for me. So winrate on 4 Rush tables was bigger than 16-tabling fr games(I mean bb/100 wise) + you always saved like 30 minutes cause there was no sitting/waiting/finding new table stuff.

More significantly Marc was doing this because it was very profitable for him and worth his time. Seems like any new poker variation or format is always very profitable, and especially profitable when it is first introduced.

At the last days games were tough. The fish in fact was a nit. But there are always ways to exploit things . . .

I'd 16 table rush too if I had 100% rakeback.

i always played 4 tables of the full ring rush game and i got 2000 hands per hour. i did this by playing tight and always quick folding my junk hands.

Assuming Stars is planning to have Blitz for multiple game types I'd like to see it first introduced on the underperforming games for a week before it gets introduced for NL players. My hopes are that people in a rush to play Blitz may become fans of a previously unplayed game.

Rush was 100x better before HUDs we able to adapt. Put something to block HUDs to keep the nit grinders/bots on their toes or out all together. Not sure what can be done to stop them, just sayin' if possible.

I cannot wait for this fast-paced ring-game model to surface.

But in all seriousness, I cannot wait for them to be incorporated into donkaments.

HUDs help us spot the nits and fold more v.them.

I'd lose a lot more to nits without a HUD

Any chance that blitz tables are also anonymous?

Looking forward to this, they need to keep things very similar to Full Tilt's model, apart from paying their owners using player funds

Isn't Blitz a bad name? Makes me think of the Nazis in second world war etc.

Some way to keep the huds out and make it practical to make notes would be good. The Rush games got a lot worse as soon as the huds started working properly. The huds got working, the parasites kicked in (not blaming them) and boom, the games dried up in no time. Stars could and should learn from this.

There should still be a way to keep track of hands though. For bot detection but also for after session analysis.

I can see why huds cant be stopped in the normal games and therefor probably should be allowed to keep a level playing field. I do think Rush/ Blitz has a shot at stopping huds though. I don't really have anything against HUDs or using a HUD per see, I use it my self quite religiously. I just think they are really bad for the games in general.

i agree that HUD-free BLITZ would most likely be superiour for the quality of the game.
i might PM the idea to POKERSTARS-STEVE, and if i do i will of course send him the link to this thread,
maybe he will join the conversation with us here.

No it wouldn't. It would mean it is more bingo than poker. You would have no dynamics what so ever. Everybody would simply play some optimal style and winrates would be minimal. It would simply be another rake trap for stars.

I tend to agree with that.

Poker is a game of skill mainly because you can develop reads and can adjust to your opponent's range and strategy.

With the fast paced Rush or Blitz, how can you even develop reads based on what your opponent do without a HUD?

By taking notes on players. This way you would not be able to block purchase 0000's of hand histories two weeks after the games start.
