Pokerstars account: Closing one, then reopening one later

Has anyone ever closed their Pokerstars account, and then re-opened a new one at a later date? Was there any consequence to this?

The reason I ask is that I would like to play under a different screen name and have a bit of privacy from people I know on the website. I know that you are not allowed to change you screen name. So closing one account and then creating a new one would be a work around for that. Just wondering if would be ok.

They did not allow you any changes to ur existing screenname, right?

So why would u ever think closing an existing account and then opening a new account could be fine from their side?

I heard you can do it if you don't play for a full year...wouldn't quote me on it though you'd have to ask them

Ah ok. Ya my original idea of doing it was under the premise of pretending that I was going to quit poker, and then make a return sometime later. I wasn't going to close my account and then immediately open another. If I do ever plan to do this in the future, I'll make sure to clarify or inquire with Pokerstars about their rules, as not to be penalized.
