So if I understand this right, the other three players (other than neon and tupapi) would have won $25k each if the hand stayed as played (with Neon also being given $25k).

Instead, they resurrect Neon's hand, Neon nets an extra $25k plus a tourney package, Neon loses $50k and each of the other three gain $8,333.

Seems a more equitable solution would have been to let the three losers keep the $25k they would have received had Neon's hand been mucked and the $8,333 each of them gained by Stars FUBAR been given to to Tupapi who was the real loser here.

I would be screaming from the rooftops if Stars had a clear technical problem that cost me $50k. SCREAMING.

How did the Stars technical problem cost tupapi $50k? Without the technical problem he never thinks he's getting $100k in the first place. That's all. How are people actually not understanding what's happening here? Kudos to tupapi for not being completely ******ed.

I was so tired last night when this happened. I had been donking around for 11 hours and was pretty sick of poker at hand 23.8bil. took a 800k hand break before opening 20tbls for the last run.
Following the table and this thread was the highlight of my lifeless weekend. I am not one to get off on others misfortune or wish bad for people, but I was darn near in tears following this last night.
I can't beleive the other players didn't each send him 1 or 2 k but what are you gonna do.

Well, it depends on whether or not you think it was really a technical problem. What if he accidentally folded, went and got himself a drink and timed out, what have you. Plus the fact that Stars had tupapi believing he might have won the whole thing. That said, it does seem like there was a glitch and the end result was probably fair. People who would try to get the other $50K in tupapi's spot would be running a bit of an angle shoot IMO. Still, wouldn't hurt for Stars to kick something his way for the screwup.

Had confedrate thought of the fact that if he had been dealt in from the beginning, they never would have got the milestone, he might have got some $$ out of them. However, even a 2+2er sitting in after the fact couldn't get him to understand this, so it seems all hope is lost for him. But who knows where his new fame might take him - one guy was pushing hard to get him on Druff's show, and he got at least a few bucks shipped to him last night.

I was there - there were serious server glitches. Many other cash tables were stopped at the same time, and many people suffered disconnects, myself included. At one point, it went from 150k to 35k logged in within a minute or two.

In terms of the fold, it may have been accidental, who knows, but it wasn't a time-out issue. The host announced that they were resuming, and the fold was close to instantaneous.

If you meant the beginning as in the previous hand, then yes, it could well have been on a different table. In this case though, don't they assign the hand number before offering the post big blind button? If so, he has only himself to blame. Rules were clear, and who would be sitting out so close to the hand going off. I feel zero sympathy for him.

Yeah, that is what I meant, since he apparently had sat out a few hands waiting for the blind. I can see no reason he would choose to pay the blind only in the milestone hand; if he was going to sit in early in case the milestone hit, he'd do so from when he first joined the table IMO. He either wasn't bright enough or wasn't able to because of server issues. Either way, him sitting out all those hands directly contributed to them getting the milestone hand.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have much sympathy, nor do I think he "deserved" anything. I just think if he had thought it through and articulated it properly, he might have got a few grand from the other players as a goodwill gesture. Everyone just won a bunch of $$, they might not have thought twice about throwing a few dollars to him had he played it right.

I doubt tupapi ever believed that he'd won the whole thing. Neonfrost spoke up about his "folded" hand immediately and said he had a queen flush before the river came out. When PS said they would treat every hand as all-in, tupapi said "that's fair" right away. I think everyone in the hand was disconnected at some point in the hand, so they all understand the connection probs.

Is Tupapi normally a high stakes player? Because if not, this is pretty hilarious.

Edit: Also, he's sitting on about 8k now, anyone know if he's down or up?
