Hey guys, possibly moving to Germany soon. Have been away from the online pokers for a while and was wondering if I can play all euro sites (unibet, ipoker etc) from there with no problems? Any advice on current tax issues would be a huge help too. Thanks

Schleswig-Holstein has a locally regulated & licensed online poker system. I don't know much about the rest.

You can play all major sites without any problems. You have to pay tax - the tax rate depends on how much you earn (in addition to other income). It's in your own responsibility if you indicate your winnings or not. To make it short - poker sites won't deduct anything of your winnings.

You only have to pay taxes in case poker is your main income.

As we approach a new year, I like im sure many others have set some poker goals for 2017 and im just looking for some advice.

I plan to start from scratch. I am setting up a completely new grind station and plan to play micro stakes 1c/2c & 2c/5c with a $200 bankroll and move up in stakes as that increases I have set my goals with regards to number of hands at each stake etc and time for study and reviewing hands. I cant wait to get started to be honest.

What I would like advice on is what site should I play on? I always use pokerstars as it has the best software imo but im not reading good things about pokerstars recently in terms of rewards and rake etc and am unsure if I should invest my money there. I would like to have some money there for tourneys however, but should i look to play cash games elsewhere? like where is the cheapest rake, softest player pool with good software and just all round best site for me for what im looking?

888 is awful as provider of the game (no rb, software is meh, awful support, scummy fees when depositing / cashing out and it takes a week to cashout, lots of bots and scripters) but the games are good. Probably softest games in these big networks. Havent played wpn or bodog.

The sites you listed are in fact some of the largest sites out there. You can also take a look at PokerScout to see what other sites are of comparable size. They may also offer you more game selection.

I ask this community what are some of the more favored sites/skins here that NL cash players prefer for getting back the best return in rake? I'm located in Canada and I'm aware of the ipoker network offering some of the best rakeback. Any other good options?

I also am familiar with winning poker network that offers something around 27% rakeback.

My suggestion would be to never, ever choose a site to play on based on rakeback. Rake and rakeback combined is a good criteria to use, but not rakeback alone.

And Winamax. Party is good, but not enough mtt's in his buy in range.....

I used to play online a LONNNNNG time ago before Black Friday and then pretty much dropped it for Real Life and cash games.

But now I am a Canadian resident and I'd like to pick it up again since Im pretty sure its legal. Any tips for getting back into it? Specifically I'd like to know if there are other sites preferred by Canadians or ones I should avoid. Also, whats the best way to move money into a site these days?

Unibet has been very good for me. Though I also had no trouble getting money on and off 888. From both sites I have requested US dollar checks and they arrive and clear quickly and without issue.

Canadians have access to pretty much everything, the most popular one obviously being pokerstars but the other two big ones are 888 and partypoker , smaller sites that you can play on are ACR and unibet. Partypoker has a deal with playground casino in montreal and has some tournaments where you can play day 1 online then go to the casino for day 2 if you live around there.

I have had no issues using credit cards or debit card/bank transfers for depositing and withdrawing (from stars + party, deposited on 888 never withdrew) gl
