I don't think that the changes are any better for the Rec players than Regs. Those Spin n Gos are like flames to moths. The Rec players just don't understand how increasing the rake and increasing the variance will burn them.

I'm a US player so currently WPN is the site with the best management. They've based their business paradigm on PokerStars. It's small but if ROW players want to join, with a large player pool, WPN could become an excellent site.

How are they for cashouts?

Do they offer cheques?

Do they allow P2P transfers?

They offer a prepaid debit transfer that takes around 24 hours for cash in hand from what I understand.

They offer checks, I got one yesterday. It did take two weeks to arrive but cleared instantly.

They are the only U.S. site to allow p2p transfers.

Overall, WPN is good, and has rakeback, but the software is mediocre. A few updates to the lobbies and more customization for the tables/cards IMO would make WPN a very, very good poker site. Also traffic is not great compared to bovada/merge/ROW sites.

With all the bad changes going on at PS, rake increase etc..

I'm considering switching sites. I play nl50 / nl100 right now, and I hear I'm losing alot of value playing on PS at those stakes.

What site has good traffic, with good rakeback deal, and easy withdrawls?

I'm looking at pokerscout, nothing seems to compete with PS traffic... very disconcerting.

So I moved to Canada and am back online after many years. Quick question regarding the rooms where I could play other than Stars Tilt Party:
- 888 and William Hills: thoughts?
- Bodog: looks like they don't have Rakeback. But would the action be as good as on Bovada?
- Any other alternatives?

Many thanks

The consensus seems to be Pokerstars is the hardest site but whats the opinions on the others.

Forgetting about 888s server shutdown, most people I see say that this one of the softest sites. I've played for a few months now so personally I dont really think it is soft, then again I'm not a winning player and dont have experience on all the sites to compare so why do others think?

not trying to be difficult or funny but if i happened to find a site that i thought was the softest site online the last thing i would do is go to the most popular forum for all the professional and many of the best players in the world and share that info.

just a small point.

I would say the hardest site is Bodog/Bovada because with anonymous tables you never can get a good read on your opponents. The easiest site is PokerStars because everyone there plays the same way.

My vote goes to iPoker as the softest network on the internet

I see what you're saying but I expect any pro worth their salt would have all that worked out long ago. Only if there were dozens of threads saying site X is the softest would it have any real influence.

i have to agree with this. i was thinking about how bovada is, in my 6 years of playing online pre and post bf ive never said that stars or tilt or ub were harder or softer than the other bc in all honesty the competition has been pretty much the same on all these sites.

post bf i have started to realize why bovada is tougher (slightly) in the long run. one main reason is the lack of hud users. their huds probably were -ev for them against low volume players like me. my game is not static at all and im sure they got -ev advice from their programs. its hard to get into their metagame when 20 tabling and making almost all their plays based on what the program told them to do. one other reason is bc bovada has great fast cashier with many options and top tourney schedule in usa most of the serious post bf grinders will play here making for more regs in the reg/fish ratio. actually id imagine that ratio is worse here than any online poker site in history atm.

merge is just as soft as the old pre-bf days and i have to imagine its bc of the hud usage.

There are (at least) two ways to find the softest and hardest sites.

One criteria would be based on the relative proportions of pros and expert players to the total player base. Higher proportions of good players predicts a hard site. Sites that no self-respecting pro would play on predicts a soft site. The names of pros are well known, and it is not difficult to find out where they play.

Another criteria would be based on the relative proportions of horrible players who do not know how to play a card game. If a site is very effective at attracting players to poker from pure gambling (no skill) games, or from spectator sports, or from other sites that specialize in interests such as alternate currencies or drug use, that would predict a soft site. To some extent that would remain true even if there were some pros or expert players there.

As already mentioned, the names of the softest sites are known (or at least suspected) but seldom shared publicly.

It is generally acknowledged that PokerStars has an extremely high number of pro and expert players, but also attracts many new inexperienced players, who are promptly screwed, blued, and tattooed.

Your mileage may vary.

Looking to move away from stars.

What's the best alternative for a uk player? My main games are 180 sngs and mtts up to $30. Preferably playing 12+ tables, so decent software is important as well as game liquidity.

Or am i being too optimistic?

cheers

Hi folks,
I'm an mtt and sng player and I'd like to open some new accounts on sites that I've never played before.
I thought about Black Ship Poker, Americas Cardrroom (In know I can't play them both togehter) and some others, and mix it up with 888, Party.

Now considering the Merge and other networks, which site would you recomment?

The following points are important to me:

General stuff:
-Accept players from Germany
-Accept deposits and cashouts via Skrill
-Cashouts should be userfriendly, which means shouldn't take longer than 2 or max 3 days
-Site should have credability and a serious image. This means good customer service, fast withdrawals, almost no concerns from players.
-Bonusses from time to time
-Nice Promotions

Pokerwise:
-Should have some Gtd. mtts for my nightly scheudle
-Should have a nice bonus/pointsystem/VIP system and maybe rakeback
-RNG should be subjectively close to normal

Bonus Codes:
Can you suggest some nice Codes for the site you like? Something of value?

I would really apprechiate some feedback about any site that fits my needs, and that you guys play on and could reconment.

Thanks!
Knighttt

Welcome to the forums!

Before jumping onto Merge, you might want to read the last few pages of the Merge thread in this forum.

Black Chip and America's Card Room are both part of the Winning Poker Network, which has a subforum here; you can see it at the top of this forum.

Hey Bobo thanks for the fast reply, and thanks for the warm welcome.
Yes I have seen the thread, but its very long. I'm not lazy reading it, but I'm also searching for some quick tipps about more "unknown" sites. If someone has some, I'd appreachiate any help.

Right, it's very long, which is why I suggested just reading the last few/several pages, where you could see that a lot of people are very unhappy with the site now, for a variety of reasons.

I hate to have to tell you this, but if you want to learn about good "unknown" sites to play on, it's fine to ask here, but you're going to have to do some of your own research as well. Smaller sites are sometimes more risky, so you'll want to check things out more thoroughly. Also, it sounds like you're hoping to find the semi-secret sites full of fish - if they still exist, people are going to be understandably reluctant to spoon-feed you that info.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out pokerscout to see what networks exist and what their traffic is. You won't find much other useful info there, though - the site reviews are usually just full of (likely mediocre at best) players whining about every site being rigged.

Any Aussie players itt that can suggest the best client for me to play on? Looking at depositing a small amount (~$100) and trying to build a decent roll from it in the coming months off uni. I have a stars account that I cashed out from about 2 years ago but have just been playing live occasionally since then. My experience is mainly STTs and MTTs but I have played some cash and am a long time lurker of the forums so im always trying to learn and improve my game. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

I am thinking about playing on a site other than Stars. Does anyone know which sites out there are the best for micro/small stakes cash in terms of number of fish, dealing with support (i.e cashing out etc.), and rake back programs? I was thinking about trying 888 poker. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.

David
