Field softer at bovada and if you're winning the PVI on GG will lower RB/rewards a fair amount. Can find some decent deals to counter it.

Hello i would like starting playing again after a long break and I wonder if it’s still worth playing pokerstars or it’s better going with ggpoker now ?
I am playing zoom NL50.
I already have tested both and I like pokerstars a lot (convenience, I feel a lot confident with the software, I am using starscaption which is great for customizing buttons etc)
However. I have seen that now the party seems going on with GG, a lot of players now there, much more than PS. Some are even saying that pokerstars is slowly dying and everybody is moving to GG, is that true ?
I am from Belgium so, as there is no rakeback for us due to legislation so I don’t care about that part

If you don't get any rb then stars obv because the rake is way lower than gg. Players who are moving away from stars are the ones not getting the 40% rb challenge. And that makes games allso better compared to gg and party.

Bounty tournaments- by splitting the prize pool among more players- generate more rake and they're popular with recs so that's why most sites are adding so many bounty tourneys not just Stars unfortunately. As for the prize pool keep in mind that the 900 for 1st to use your example would probably be 2 or 3k after bounties.

I have been playing micro stakes poker on the Bet365 Premium tables for the last 18 months and although I make a small loss on the tables according to HM3, I make a small profit overall thanks mainly to the loyalty level bonuses received. As a Gold level player I was shocked to see that their loyalty scheme expired at the end of September (see link).

Does anyone know if a new loyalty scheme will be put in place to replace the previous scheme. If not I will probably switch sites and would welcome suggestions as to the best site for UK based micro stakes players?

I will consider switching to Betfair after I have used up my current Bet365 loyalty awards. I am not sure what the RB equivalent of the gold level was, but based on the difference between my HM3 overall loss and the actual profit I have made at Bet365, it would appear to be around 15% of the rake I have paid. 30% RB would be great.

Good morning Piolover. Yeah just came back myself a 2-3 weeks ago after a few years not playing very much and mostly not at all. Like you a prefer Pokerstars as that's where I've played for years after Ultimate Bet went down. Yeah I'd say Pokerstars is slowly dying away to nothing as right now 9:10am here in Canada just logged in to both Pokerstars and GG poker. Pokerstars right now has less then 20,000 online while GG Poker has 125,000+. Been near the same for the last few weeks since I started playing again. GG Poker is just killing Pokerstars when it comes too traffic.

I don't play Zoom I'm just a micro/low stakes MTT guy who sometimes falls off the MTT wagon and plays a bit of micro cash and Spin n Goes so can't help with Zoom and how it is on GG poker compared to Pokerstars. Personally FWIW(only been a few weeks) don't find the r-n-g/shuffling and dealing software much different from stars when it comes to MTT, cash or Spin n Goes. I do find there's way less split pots on GG Poker when it comes to MTT's though. Only a few weeks sample size though.

Which site has the most traffic and the biggest guarantees is my question?

I'm in the same boat.... Quit playing after the US Gov decided to shut everything down.

Now I'm looking at coming back to online poker but every site I look at just seems so dead.

Only been back playing 3-4 weeks now and it seems to be GG Poker of all the sites I've played at before and know of and I don't even think it's close. Right now Pokerstars has just over 20k online. GG Poker right now has just over 131k online and these numbers have been above the same and around that avg every morning I login for 3-4 weeks now. Every other site seemingly has less in my 3-4 weeks of looking since I've been back. Of course I didn't check every poker site in the world. But I checked Party Poker, Blackchip Poker, 888 Poker and of course Pokerstars.


In my opinion overall I'd rank them as follows: GG, Pokerstars, then probably Party Poker(never really liked their site and layout myself), 888 Poker and Blackchip Poker. I do think Party has a bit more traffic then Blackchip and 888 Poker but I'd personally play at Blackchip and 888 Poker before Party Poker regardless of that. Party Poker while I played there some long time ago just doesn't appeal to me as much as others. To each there own.

Is GG still banning players for winning?

First there's not many stupider questions you could ask a guy that's only been back playing semi serious for 3-4 weeks, only playing MTT's and who hasn't won anything yet too try cashing out. I'm go ahead and bet it all and go all-in that they don't ban players for winning under $400. If they do then they won't be the biggest poker site in traffic for very long. And no I don't need or wanna hear another boohoo story about being banned from a poker site. Heard enough and seen enough of them stories over the last 15-20+ years. And what they all come down to in the end is said player either outright cheated and got caught, did shady ****(got caught), simply didn't follow the TOS or in GG Pokers case likely didn't verify their account so can't cash out.


Whatever your issue was I simply don't care as I won't have the same problem. As I've heard guys have issues with UB, Pokerstars, Party Poker and 888 Poker over the last 15-20+ years. I've had ZERO. As an avg rec player that doesn't do shady ****, pays attention and has good reading comprehension(most the population today lack this) and probably less then 5% that actually read the TOS of poker sites I have exactly ZERO concerns about being banned for winning a little bit of money here there playing MTT's.


EDIT: I will say one thing about GG Poker and getting verified. It can be a bit of a hassle depending on your situation. I had a bit of a hassle but finally managed to get verified. Not that matters in today's world there's was around everything but I like the fact GG poker makes players get verified.
