There is a long thread by wcgrider on his experience and pokerstar's short response. Do a search.
Most scammers fit into this profile.
- New 2+2 account with few posts yet seem to know how the trading thread works.
- Willing to send first and all at once. Doesn't it seem strange that these new accounts would be this trusting.
- No or very little playing history on OPR or sharkscope.
more signs:
(1) trading stars without a vig.
(2) search for their references in the trading thread. just a reference isn't enough. you have to check who the reference is. how long the 2p2er who gave the reference has been a member and if the 2p2er who gave them a reference has an inflated post count.
(3) inflated post count. who posts 10 times a day. maybe some of you are that bored, but really.
(4) only references 1 or 2 days old. this isn't enough time for chargebacks to occur on a stolen credit card and funds to be zapped from your poker account.
so here's what tipped me off. the 2 PMs i got from 2 seperate users sent off alarms. no way i was gonna do this trade, but i figured i'd do a little research for the 2p2 community. the reference i checked for sure set it off. now maybe this 2p2er who referred him is legit. maybe not. but here's the link to the referral:

now his 1 referral has no other trading references, 100+ posts and has only been a member for a month. hmmm. who posts this much. so i thought 2p2er bursito was a fake reference. turns out bursito also got scammed. guess he's just a poor newbie trader who has got to deal with the rif raf. and i guess he just loves posting like crazy on 2p2.
so i suggest to traders and people looking for trades. get a few people you trust and don't deal with the rif raf. i met my trader online here and deal with him exclusively to get money off ap and onto stars. don't see him posting here any more. think he has a big enough trustworthy client base that he no longer deals with the rif raf. sucks for newbies, but i won't deal with them and i won't deal with anyone who doesn't have a ref from some very established trader. i post occasionally and i sell my stars for ftp and these are the guidelines i follow and i don't have problems and i don't trade 1st.
can we get a lock out thread for those of us with 5 plus refs? or 10+ refs?
