My name seems to lend itself to this, because I've got a lot of history being an honest trader, and also because my name has a bunch of numbers in it... people seem to just glance over the numbers, and aren't careful to make sure the numbers are the same

You should report his 2p2 ID to Mike Haven as soon as possible and it will be banned. Eventually he'll run out of fake IDs that look like mine I guess

Everyone be careful when trading, check the numbers, make sure you're really dealing with me. If you're really dealing with me, I'll send you 2p2 PMs with the exact name "*******" and I'll even offer you my phone number.

Also, I'd never link you directly to my past trades, this is what most scammers do. I would just let you find them on your own by looking through the thread. Scammers link directly to trades because they don't want you to read through the thread yourself and find a warning like this one.

I believe it's the same person who scammed me out of $50. He did the same basic thing to me when I tried to make my first trade in the P2P thread.

If it is the same person, he's probably already dumped the money to other accounts at the poker tables, and the likelihood of you getting that money back is extremely slim.

But you should always report it to the site's security team. The more you report him, the harder it will be for him to dump the money, because security will eventually figure out that certain accounts are having a lot of this scammed money dumped onto them.

Hope you didn't lose too much. I was in the same mental state as you were when I got scammed, I was very lazy because the money wasn't much to me and I never imagined somebody would scam and steal just for $50. But obviously they do.

The lesson was well worth the $50 in my opinion. We'll definitely be more careful in the future.

That is an accurate transcription of our converstation via AIM... and in fact i did tell a small fib. The pause was me checking back through recent trades with scott not me talking on another AIM.

I recognize that asking me to sit w my roll is not an unreasonable request -- and in point of fact if a more established trader had made the request i probably would have just sighed and complied, in spite of the fact that i like to keep that sort of information private. Several factors made me uncomfortable with the trade and the request:


1. Scotty only has one recent trade on here for Epassporte, with modacro. It apparently went through after an unexpected (but reasonably explained after the fact) delay, but the last that was reported here there was still money outstanding from it that was never sent.

2. He also only has one successful trade on the Full tilt forums, in which he did not comply with forum rules by fialing to post his screen names, and the last portion of which had to be aborted (money was refunded to the other guy who sent first)

3. His initial contact with me on the full tilt forums also failed to comply with the rules (same deal no screen names)

4. When i asked him his stars sn, he did not respond.

5. He wanted to see my roll in spite of the fact that I have many successful trades on the forum and he only has two trades, both of which were only partially successful.

Given all this information, i decided that i was not comfortable with the trade, and that i wouldnt proceed further, so i indicated as much to him.

''More established' - While I made the ftp forums account yesterday on the recommendation of someone, I initally contacted you on 2p2 where I likely gave you some of 2p2/online pokers most respected players as references. 90% of our contact has been on 2p2, i just posted in this ftp thread when I realized your names were the same and seeing you were online on 2p2.

1 - Yes, one trade for epass is listed on the forum. My reputaiton on 2p2 is such that it isnt worth my time to post every single time when I make a successful trade. The money is 'still outstanding' for that reason, because the poster and i resolved it through pm/im/phonee whatever - I give everyone I trade with all 3 methods to contact me because I have nothing to hide from and always follow through with anything and everything asked of me.

2 - My ftp forums account was created yesterday, and i explained why I didnt post my epass screenname - I think posting a 50k br (on one site) should be worth more than posting an epass screenname in a $150 transfer, and I am happy to pm my epass name to anyone who wants to know it. I am just paranoid with google/hacking/etc. The last portion was aborted because my compliance with the traders request to break it up into super small chunks put me over the epass daily # of transfers limit that I was unaware of.

3 - This is laugable, are you not bringing up the same thing repeatedly in different numbers?

4 - I didnt want you to send until I was comfortable that your funds were ones I wanted to receive. With two $22 buyins in the last two days, and your refusal to show me I wasnt just giving your full roll on epass which could haev been fradulently deposited, of course Im not going to give you my sn. However since you are such a sleuth, you could have easily seen my screenname in the other ftp forum thread iirc.

5 - TWO TRADES? Do your homework bro.

Lets stop cluttering threads with bs, you didnt want to do the transfer, we didnt. I felt some shady stuff COULD have been going on, and you're asking like you are the one not wanting to do a swap with me.
