As to the banning, that's up to Mike Haven. Again, you saying that this guy scammed you, even if you say so 6 or 7 times in an hour, is proof of nothing. Anyone who is looking to trade should be able to easily find his name in this thread now, so there really is no excuse for anyone else to get scammed, if you actually were. Have some patience, it's after midnight in MH's part of the world, so it's not likely anything will happen until the morning, if at all.

Just traded $5k from FTP to Cake with Jeffmet3. He was very quick to reply to my messages and a pleasure to deal with.

I just did a good trade with finalboarder ... or I should say he's held up his end of the bargain admirably - my transfer to him from my account on UB to his on Absolute is still pending.

We traded $181 in two pieces, and he sent first. He was cautious about the transfer, as he should be. He sent the money when he said he would, and it arrived without problem.

FYI, it is possible to send from your UB account to someone else's AP account, but it is clearly taking longer than a straight AP-AP transfer.

finalborder - when the money comes through, post in the thread how long it took - I imagine others may want to know. The AP-AP took less than 15 minutes, right?

I did some research and Av8tor009 on Pokerforums.org who is well known with over 2,000 post. He claims that the account that I was scammed by was indeed his account name as there were post from 1-2 years old of Hand Historys. He claimed that he gave his Pokerstars account away to a friend who was banned from Pokerstars. He was very nice and I don't think it is the same guy and really do believe he did give his account away.

I was able to get his IP address umm...Mike Haven I will PM you it is there a way you can see if they match the person who posted under the name I was scammed by.

Please read the OP and all earlier warnings. Either we ban all mentions of transfers, period, or you must accept that they are entirely at your own risk; people are trying to scam you; you should obtain real life details, (name, address, phone number), about people in order to inform the police if you are scammed; exchange full details of the proposed transfer by e-mail; you should only transfer in amounts you are prepared to lose; google and Search the other person's name; ask here for references; a record of a few successful transfers can be a setup to scam on the next one; it seems likely but not definite that most scammers are newer posters; if the other guy won't transfer first, transfer in a number of small amounts; ask the other guy to sit at a table with his bankroll in front of him; etc; etc.

If you are in any doubt, or unwilling to risk losing the amount of money involved, don't offer to transfer first. Realise that you are likely to be scammed if you do.

Owing to a hacker using a long-time poster's 2+2 PM facility to arrange a scam, I now also suggest that before transferring first you find out the other party's real name (at the very least his first name) and e-mail the poker site's Support to say that you understand that they cannot confirm the other guy's name, but your intention is to transfer to Player ABC whose real name is XYZ, and instruct them that if this is not the case, you do not wish the transfer to proceed.

Extra care should be taken with Ultimatebet and Absolutepoker p2p transfers as it is alleged that their Support and Security Departments may not act as responsibly as players would expect they should, in terms of general fraud prevention.

Thread remains clutter free, except for reports from victims, and replies from veteran traders telling them how stupid they are.

2. Post salient details.
Veteran traders can issue warnings to the noobs.

3. Buddy / Ignore Lists
You'll see that they have posted, but wont see the content.

We all have to agree that scammers are preying on the noobs. If you want to help stop them, let's figure out the best way.
