I searched on yahoo, and did a search for 20SUCKOUTZ that what his ftp id is, and he won a lot of touneys on there, so I didnt think twice, anyways pitbull poker screwed me out of 70 bucks, I was willing to loose 50 if anything, but they did the transfer twice

Please read the OP and all earlier warnings. Either we ban all mentions of transfers, period, or you must accept that they are entirely at your own risk; people are trying to scam you; you should obtain real life details, (name, address, phone number), about people in order to inform the police if you are scammed; exchange full details of the proposed transfer by e-mail; you should only transfer in amounts you are prepared to lose; google and Search the other person's name; ask here for references; a record of a few successful transfers can be a setup to scam on the next one; it seems likely but not definite that most scammers are newer posters; if the other guy won't transfer first, transfer in a number of small amounts; ask the other guy to sit at a table with his bankroll in front of him; etc; etc.

If you are in any doubt, or unwilling to risk losing the amount of money involved, don't offer to transfer first. Realise that you are likely to be scammed if you do.

Owing to a hacker using a long-time poster's 2+2 PM facility to arrange a scam, I now also suggest that before transferring first you find out the other party's real name and e-mail the poker sites' Support to say that you understand that they cannot confirm the other guy's name, but your intention is to transfer to Player ABC whose real name is XYZ, and instruct them that if this is not the case, you do not wish the transfer to proceed.

Yes, I "knew" A++Playa was Oliver Nipples.

I also "know" who you are, and I can only issue a "warning" on you, at this time.

Unfortunately, I can't just ban everyone who has a similar IP address to an alleged scammer.

While I was banning A++Playa and three or four of his other accounts last night I noticed a couple of long term high profile account-holders here who have very similar IP addresses to the latest one used by him.

I believe we have slowed the serial thieves' work down quite bit, particularly in relation to the big sites.

My suspicion now is that they have had to move to the small sites.

Therefore, I would add that if you are wanting to transfer money from a small site you should be even more cautious than ever about transferring first, especially when the other guy "talks too much" and tries to appear indifferent to whether you transfer or not. I still think you should ask for his real name and address and tell the site that you are wanting to transfer to that real name and address, and if the information doesn't tie in with theirs, then you don't want the transfer to proceed, (even though you accept they will not tell you anything about the guy's name and address themselves).

Of course, the good news is that the smaller the site perhaps the less confidential they keep the information they hold, and one day they might "accidentally" release the thieves' real names and addresses.

My only crime is having a similar IP address as his referenced scammars; an observation he admits also includes many high profile posters(of which I am not one). As stated in the PM's, I'm not here to make transfers & am only interested in the information & some humor. I will be signing ever future post to reflect the fact that I'm now on the scammers list & you should be wary of me.

Wow, that's a whole lot of associations with the creme of the crop. I believe it to be SBC Yahoo's lack of available extensions & a completely full CO in my area that is causing too many similar IP addresses (SBC DSL in not available to new customers in my area (wait list only). While I'm not happy to be on any list (Save a player of the year variety), I think you have a tough job & need to be preventive. I will be adding our PM correspondence to the P to P thread as well as signing every future post with "Pappy is a sad member of Hike Haven's Watch list".
