I'm more inclined to believe that the real scammer used the one of you as unwitting accomplice to get $50. This type of scam has happened before.

Whenever I trade with someone new, I ask that they sit at an empty table on the poker site. I then join them on the site and then ask a few questions to confirm their identity.

Depending on trade amount and OPR, I may ask them to sit with a specific amount of money.

I know I have no history, so if necessary, I'm willing to move $500 to an Admin or Mod from 2+2 with an account at Full Tilt, so I would essentially be sending first.
