I did help him out with uncovering the scam. When I got back to him on whether he still wanted RPM like he mentioned he did yesterday, he said he had already done a transaction with someone and he hadn't received funds yet and had been 3 hours.

This was during peak times and in my experience, it shouldn't have taken that long. I asked him who he did it with and he said user randy h.

Obviously a quick search of his history shows he has no prior trades in this thread and had logged off etc. I informed streffert he may have been scammed and should contact RPM live chat support to see if he has any transfers pending. He thought the chat was down but I showed him how to get to the RPM chat which was online. After chatting with support, he was informed by them that he had no incoming transfers pending and the scam was confirmed.

After that, he wanted to add $100 so we did our trade. I sent him some tips on how to avoid getting scammed, the precautions. Also showed him, how he can get unknowns to sit at a table with atleast the funds for which the trade is being done and have them type his username. This way you can also get an idea on what SNs the other person has access to.

I sat at a headsup table so he can get an idea on the process and to show proof of funds.

Overall, streffert was patient and fast in responding to PMs. Would trade again.

He sent what where, where did the $1500 go and how? Same with the second 'confirm'. If it's poker sites then you need both screen names on both sites used (4 in total) or if it's bank transfer/other swap then you should say clearly, otherwise no-one reading that will know what's going on.

If you want me to post something in the transfer thread about this I don't care, I will. I honestly don't know what to say. And if what you're talking about isn't this Cake/cash trade then I honestly don't know what you're talking about.

Honestly I have no idea how this came up out of nowhere. The person was, like I said, completely lying to Cake and them coming back about this 2 years later is strange. I didn't receive a PM from him, just from Mike.

I haven't done hundreds of trades here but I have probably done 15-20 (including large ones) and this was the only one where anything out of the ordinary happened. I stopped doing trades on here 2 summers ago (2009) when I found out about Gary Benson. I started doing them again after Black Friday and that's why there was a 2-year gap of trades for me. I'm sure Gary Benson would be glad to confirm I had 300-400 cashouts thru him between 2009 and early this year. I've sent first in just about every one of the trades I've done just because I'm always extremely careful who I'm dealing with and if someone is brand new or something I won't even trade if they send first anyways...so I have no problem sending first. I usually offer to send first regardless of who has more trades because I'm careful about looking into their past trades, etc and I have no problem doing this in the future.
