Party poker has locked my and several other Swedes' poker accounts due to "verification".
How the site has handled this situation is the most amateurish I have experienced during my 10 years in poker and contact with various sites.

Their reasons are that they want to trace where the deposits' funds come from, which is reasonable. But despite 10s of emails with attached salary specs, profits from other sites, etc. they respond with every four days and respond to supplementary information but as they have already received so they seem to have an obvious strategy of delaying and going around in circles. Has asked to take out an existing bankroll but has been completely ignored regarding that question.

If the money is confiscated, I can take it, I guess part of the game, but show the hell a little backbone and dignity and be honest.
I understand that it is a national phenomenon in relation to the Swedish gaming license, but I think Partypoker should take its responsibility towards the customer and at least answer, guide and inform.

Hope it resolves asap and has great respect for Pads and Rob Young who have done a fantastic job at the company and hope we can push the issue forward for a solution.

I had a similar experience with Party. They completely failed to understand a basic concept of 'source of funds'. If the net difference between total deposits and withdrawals proves that the source of funds is 'winnings' then what relevance is everything else they ask for. This entire 'source of funds' concept of over the top in my view, and is causing many problems with a lack of basic understanding of what this really means. I guess this is a box ticking exercise for their own compliance. I'm sure most of their customers wouldn't mind, however they could at least deal with their customers (and their own source of revenue) like adults and not treat customers like idiots.

How is it reasonable? Is it just a US thing that I don't want other people knowing my financial business?

I'm confused. You said your account and several "other" Swedes had their account locked.

You also asked if it was only US players concerned about disclosing their financial information.

Old thread, but this just happend to me. Did any of you guys ever get your funds back or can partypoker just confiscate the money? Seems like they often go after winning players from what I have read...

Hopefully it can be resolved, but I assume they will close my account even if I provide them with all the documents since I don't have a job and can't give them any paystubs etc.

I guess it's a lesson learned, make sure you have other income streams if you are trying to be a professional poker player and never live in Sweden...
