On top of that, instead of getting the $1k effective rb per month, I'd have to wait until I'd accrued 650k points to buy a bonus that was anywhere near the levels that I used to be able to achieve.

Needless to say, I won't be sticking around.
Hi Reg74 - sorry that you feel that the changes to the VIP scheme are so bad, but we've honestly gotten quite a good reaction from many of our players, particularly those who never had the chance to cash in their Paddy Points for cash before.

I second the fact the PPP VIP scheme in now appalling there's no longer a real need for the VIP levels and I ran some rough numbers and the bonuses aren't as easy to obtain as some other sites as such I moved Ipoker skin.

The really small stakes players who don't know any better perchance?

You know the changes you have made have been detrimental to a huge slug of your $50nl grinders! The chenges you have made basically force people to play on your site for hours on end, month after month because the 'rewards' at the lower end of the scale probably don't equate to much more than 15% effective rb.

Going by the traffic I have observed on ipoker, there is a huge amount of $20nl/$50nl/$100nl grinders who have basically had their effective rakeback cut in half.

Many break even players, or just small winners probably appreciated the monthly payments they used to receive either to top their rolls up, or to help them progress through the limits faster. I suspect that many of them will slowly drift away when they realise what a slog it will be to earn 650k points.

I joined Paddy Power because at the time it had just about the best reward system on the network, which made it worth putting up with all the nits who were rake racing and probably sharing accounts to achieve this goal but now, the reward system is a joke.

My roll has been withdrawn and I can't imagine I'll be playing there again any time soon.

Whoever thought of this new system clearly held the bread and butter players in contempt and treat them as if they were idiots. I suspect I won't be the only player leaving the skin. In fact, I hope that they leave you in droves.

If anyone is stuck inside because of the cold weather in Northern Europe over the next few days, we've been thinking of you! (mainly coz we're similarly stuck ourselves)

We're running 3 Paddy's Cold Deck $5 MTTs each of the next three evenings (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at 5pm, with $500 added to each and a $100 bounty to take down as well if you knock out player 'PPPcolddeck'! There probably won't be too many players so hopefully there will be some free cash for those who play

No incentive for any thinking full time player to play there. Why would you bother?

I think Paul's silence on the matter of Paddy Power effectively cutting the throats of their micro grinders really does speak volumes.

I look forward to seeing the next VIP reward structure when they realise just what a bollock they have dropped with this transparent attempt to rip off a large percentage of their clientele.

Guess this is as good a place to post as any.

Your site simply wont let me download the setup file! Have new PC and existing account, but no software. Please fix this!

Don't bother. There are more rewarding sites on the ipoker network.

Betfred seem to be as good as any and a lot better than Paddy Power from my limited research.

Sorry Reg74, I just wasn't working over the weekend! Back into the office now, despite the unusual snow we're having...I have no info on if and when a VIP scheme restructure is planned, though I know the current scheme is going to be refined on a monthly basis. We're going to introduce more rewards for higher volume players, such as tournament tokens to various events (such as our Irish Open bonuses now, that offer some of the best value for higher level players' Paddy Points).

thehempy, where are you based? You may have been blocked from downloading our software because of location. I can't think of any other reasons why!

We had the option of going live with the resizeable tables as the very first iPoker skin but declined this option until we properly tested it; we were glad we did as we found a significant bug, which is currently being worked on. Once all the issues have been resolved to our satisfaction, we'll release the update and resizeable tables will be yours! However, despite the push to be 'first to market' with the shiny new tables, we just don't want our players to suffer from a playability point of view.

Our decision to restrict our poker offering to those in Australia was not one which we arrived at lightly or with haste. It was only made after careful consideration of many factors and after extensive legal advice. There has been no recent change to Australian law, as speculated above. As a public company listed on the Irish and UK stock exchanges, we must be prudent in regularly reviewing our legal position. This decision came about as a result of such a review. Beyond this we are not willing to detail on a public forum our exact reasoning for this move other than to say that our decision was strongly influenced by the prevailing legislative climate in Austrailia.

I hope you will appreciate that I am not in a position to elaborate further on this point. I wish to sincerely apologise for any disruption which our decision has caused to you. For those of you not living in Australia, I would like to re-iterate that this is purely limited to Australia and does not affect our players in other jurisdictions.
What a load of politician style double speak that is.

There has been NO changes to Australian legislation yet you cite the current legislative climate?

And then you will not explain further?

When people want to use a site they like to see transperancy and honesty, not the dribble you came up with for an excuse.

I have never played on PPP, but was considering it, that is why I read this whole thread.

Whatever your reasons are for not allowing Australians to play, just do us a favour and do not overturn them, seeing the complaints and failure to answer customers truthfully ensures that I would not be depositing one red cent, even if I could.

I think enough time has elapsed for me to come out and tell you that our restriction on Aussie players was due to our parent company's now well-documented acquisitions in the Australian Gaming sector over the past year; the instructions came down from above in this case! I guess they did not want to risk 'muddying the waters', given that poker is a relatively small (but very important) part of the business. The larger PLCs have a duty to shareholders to be (overly) cautious sometimes, I guess.

Just a quick note to mention we've started to run daily freeroll tournaments awarding Irish Open feeder tokens; the $ value isn't very high but hopefully someone will be able to parlay the token into a full satellite entry and even a seat at the event! Details HERE

Since I'm always being PM'ed about new cash races, I might as well let everyone know about our new $5,000 cash race starting at midnight on Sunday evening:

$5k Cash Race

It runs for 7 days - we've also got weekly cash races ready to go for all of February, I'll post up the details when I get the go-ahead!

Another month, another Cash Race promo...

Royal Cash Races

February's cash race promo runs for the full month and is divided into four weeklong counting periods. We're awarding over $2,500 in cash and prizes each week and paying the top 60 players. Win the top weekly prize of $500 and....you'll feel like a king! Yep, I had fun writing the copy for this one, lots of 'cash is king' and 'your royal majesty' cliches to use

I'd also be interested to know how some iPoker sites have rolled out the new software maybe 2 weeks ago or longer but others are yet to catch up?

Is it a 'money' thing?

we pretty much could have been the first skin to go live with the new software but we discovered a bug and put it on hold until that was fixed. Thats now fixed but I am waiting on them to make modifications to the hole cards before setting it to live - I hope it wont be any later than next week but I really want them to work on the hole cards.

Pretty sure this has to do with them buying Sportsbet, meaning that while there may not have been a change in Aussie law, now that they have significant assets there they must take local laws more seriously..
