Would current traders please note that there seems to be a hacker working the transfers thread? In one case, two hacked accounts worked together to attempt to steal from a trader.

The thief seems to pick old accounts that haven't been used for trading or posting for a couple of years or more, probably guess the old and simple password that was used, and then try to talk noobs into sending Venmo and the like to it, first.

Please make sure that you take extra care when you have to send non-poker account money first. Effecting a small "test" transfer is maybe sensible, as the hacker probably won't have access to the poker account supposedly involved. Sharing and checking RL personal info might be a good way to go, too.

Don't be in a rush to send first, and if unusual delays occur once you've sent, mention them in this thread as soon as possible. Hopefully, if you have become a target, an early report will help others avoid being scammed, too.

Got ahold of the real Shane Sigsbee, confirmed scam. He's been doing it for years it sounds like. Do not work with Shane Sigsbee for Poker Stars transfers (he does not have an account), and always do Video Call. I did a phone call and voice matched with a podcast Shane is on, and sounded very very similar (sounded same to me).
