I'm from the UK, but am looking to move to Barcelona as I have a lot of friends there, I speak Spanish, and I love the city; in short there's a non-lucrative residence visa I'm pretty sure I'm eligible for that would allow me to move there without being sponsored by a company. My main income is online poker (NL25/50 on Stars) and I know that it's one of the worst places to play from in terms of taxation. I guess I could live with being taxed on my income up to a point, as I really do feel like it's a place I'd like to make my home.

Anyone who plays on pokerstars.es who can help with the following questions?

- How strong/soft are 6-max cash games at NL25/50, and what's the traffic like?
- How much do you pay in tax on your earnings?

Thanks.

Most of the people I know who play online in Spain are complete idiots so it should be good money. But taxes.

I only have access to the zoom pool, but there is also traffic in other rooms. Look into winamax and other sites which are available in spain.

I don't think NL50 will be enough to live confortably in Barcelona. Average national wage is ~2100, so in Barcelona should be 2400+

As poker player you should make more than average, besides living expenses and taxes, you have to invest in growing bankroll.

I'd say minimum NL100 looking into NL200. You should have a bankroll (min 50 buyins) and at least 6 month expenses saved up. It also depends if you have other forms of income of course.
