It absolutely is a topic for the internet poker forum as I was relating it to state-run lotteries and how one is legal while the other is not.

Save your warnings for when it is justified.

It's a thread that might fit better in the poker legislation forum than here. And if it did belong here, it sure didn't need to be a new thread when there's already so many here about this subject. So a mod gave you a warning. Not an infraction, not a ban, a warning. The mods here do the best they can, and I'm sure that's even tougher these days with all the hullabaloo over the government action this week. Is all the drama really necessary?

I understand how banks work. My point is the new checks didn't raise any red flags and its been a week since I cashed it.

Looking pretty good IMO.

obviously not, otherwise they would have returned the thousands of check deposits that were to sent out by the processors

I don't think poker sites should foot the bill here. The US government seized funds, the players should challenge this in court.

What is stopping the government from taking another 30 million tomorrow?
Eventually these sites will just cut the Americans off, unless they can sort out their own troubles.

Who knows how far the government will go and where their reach extends to. I reckon however that this is just the tip of the iceberg. They will most likely hunt down Pokerstars and Full Tilt across Europe and demand justice or compensation akin to Party. I am taking my cash out asap. Period.

I'm afraid to say that what the "Feds" are doing is completely and fully illegal. If the PPA finally decides to do something useful and fight this all the way to the Supreme Court, the "Feds" are gonna have a lot of asskissing to do.

And get your facts straight. PS & FT are not "from" the US.

As it stands, sites like FTP will lose a large percentage of their income if they ban US players, so I don't see them changing anything. Maybe FTP should keep their funds strictly in off-shore accounts?
from what i have seen on here, the mass hysteria is coming from those with bankrolls 500< ... if i see one more post about "stars bounced my $200 check and now I can't pay my mortgage" im gonna throw up....

all the people with a significant br on ftp or ps, don't seem the least bit worried.... I don't think all the $100 cashout requests that are coming are a huge deal to stars or ftp.

Question: when monies are seized, as in this instance, what happens to it? Does it stay where it is until some sort of legal meeting of the minds and judicial decision takes place? Whose money is it at this juncture?

OK now, everyone can relax.

The US government has approved the payout of funds to online poker players if they agree to take the money in the form of a Chrysler or GM vehicle.

Anyone want a HUMMER from the government????????

How did you come up with this? I live here and don"t find it slow.

I've been living in Canada for five years now, but am originally from the states.

Mail specifically from Canada to the US and vice-versa takes longer to be delivered than mail from US to Western Europe.

Mail from NYC to Montreal takes longer than mail from NYC to Idaho.

I just talked to my bank. I told them my last couple deposits (brag) came from foreign poker sites that do not allow sports betting or other casino games, and just wanted to make sure those funds were safe in my account. They assured me everything was fine but would double check with some regulators for me.

The teller, and bank manager are both seemed really impressed by me too. I might make another withdrawal just to have an excuse to go back in there and tell my story all over again.

Anytime mail has to cross the border it will take longer.I have had mail from Ontario to AB in 2 Days. Actually I ordered from Best Buy Tiger woods and had it in 2 days. Canada Post. I laugh because I could have payed Extra shipping and handling for overnight delivery.

I have recieved mail within 5 buisness going back and forth across the US border.
I dont find that slow.

This thread has gotten too big to read so sorry if this has been discussed.

Is this a coincidence that this is happening during the WSOP? Does it really matter?
