I'm sure there are several threads like this in the past, but I haven't seen one in a while, so I thought I'd share my thoughts...and obviously I'd love to hear yours.

What would the online poker picture look like if the United States government legalized (not saying it's illegal now) and regulated it?

My thoughts:
Although I'm sure this would be great overall, especially long term for obvious reasons (fish), I believe the year or so after it happened would be a little "chaotic". I would think some, if not most, big casino brands (Harrahs, MGM) would all start their own site, as well as several other sites that want to take a piece of the pie. I could be way off here, but I wouldn't be suprised if we see 10-20 new sites pop up post-regulation. And of course all the current sites that don't allow US players would come back (Party). This would all make for rather interesting playing as the fish would be spread all over the map until several sites eventually come out victorious. Sure, Stars would still be a good backup for high traffic, but it still could be rather chaotic.

Thoughts?

Competition would be awesome.Price to play would go down,reward programs up,and win rates up for winning players.
