By adult I meant 18+. I don't agree with the government's arbitrary number, but it is standard. I just don't see how an individual 18+ can get by without a bank account unless they are living at home.
Many employers don't even issue paper checks anymore. How do you get paid without an account for direct deposit? How do you apply for a mortgage, or sign a rental lease without a bank account? How do you book a reservation, rent a car, pay utility bills,
deposit on Full Tilt, get gas in the middle of the night, etc.?
It may be possible to do some of those without a bank account, but not without extra costs, added risks, and wasted time. Just open an account and make life easy for yourself.
