I've lurked on 2p2 since like 2005. This is the first time I've had issues so I made an account and chimed in by posting the email they sent me as was requested by another poster. This doesn't change the fact that you are in fact trolling and should stop.

Because the processor seems to have only lost one account, not all their accounts as one of their banks seems to still be clearing checks.

Its not a big Government sting operation that's the problem

It's not really about hiding the processors from the government. It's more about not having the bank publicly associated with gambling in search engine results etc. I agree it's probably a moot point since this processor got shut down already but why take the risk?

Ah, so it's only the major bank that got shutdown? Well, there's your answer, Ryan. The processor is still good, it's the account that got shutdown by the bank.

Dear xenoinca,

We were recently informed by one of our check providers that their bank
account has been frozen. As a result, the following check cannot be
cashed or deposited at this time:

Transaction ID: XXXXXXXXX
Amount: "$1,200.00"
Mailed date: "June 2, 2009"

We are in communication with the provider to establish the exact
circumstances, and find an immediate solution. We appreciate your
patience in the meantime and will provide a further update by end of day
Monday.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any disruption this has caused
you.

Best Regards,

Eduardo

Im not certain, but from PMng people as of this morning some with a check drawn on the non-national bank were told by Stars their check was OK. Could change, who knows, but its not clear the whole processor is gone

it might not be a huge deal to mention the processor name, however, people forget or don't realize how many good cash out options have been shut down (and its not the government on most occasions that shuts down the processor - its bad publicity, etc that causes it to happen)

Im hoping Stars follows up Monday with some solution and a bonus. I have no problem with them taking a few days to sort things out, but would be pretty weak to not compensate everyone and I really dont want to have to mail them a bunch of docs for them to pick up the $10 returned check fee on my account

Stars is still responsible for it, but its sort of in the ether for now.

I deposited my check about 4 hours prior to receiving the email from Pokerstars. They didn't give me any problems at the bank. What does this mean? Did the check bounce? Am I going to have problems with my bank now?

Damn I just got that e-mail too. But I haven't deposited the check yet. I have the check in my car...what do you guys suggest I do?

So Stars is going to send me a new check when all of this is sorted out? And would the bank let me know when they pulled the money from my account? Sorry for the dumb questions, but it's a fairly significant amount of money for me.

the check is bad. either pretend the amount isn't there until they remove it or call the bank and tell them the check is bad and have them freeze the funds. either way they don't really exist.

I wish I had had that option. I didn't find out until 6 days after I deposited the check. money is long gone, and the check that is due in a couple days is bad too.

Not necessarily. If you deposited the check, don't spend any of the money because it's going to be coming out soon, probably along with a returned check fee (maybe as much as $35?). Stars support staff will make this right, as they always do.

The emails are saying that they want to have this sorted out by Monday evening, and they'll probably credit back your check's amount plus some money for your trouble. Maybe they'll automatically resend the checks but that's unlikely. It would make more sense for them to put it back into your account because a good portion of the players will end up playing with the money rather than just cashing it out again.

Stars hasnt announced what they are going to do, but they will get you the money at some point, unclear whether it will be automatic or returned to your account first with you needing to request a new check. The bank will let you know the check didnt clear at some point and may hit you with a small fee

I have no idea, so I dont want to give bad info.

E-checks have in the past cleared until they havent and sometimes people have seen problems for a couple of days before the problems become acknowledged, so Id take Stars assurances on the e-check timeframe with a little grain of salt given there is clearly a processor issue. JMHO though

Does this crap get put into ChexSystems? Or is it just when you "bounce" a check? Does this count?
