My comment was not intended as an endorsement of cake. I'm just saying their last hand replay function is decent. I wouldn't recommend cake to anyone unless the person is a loser who will never withdraw. However, i am glad i have a few bucks there to fight the boredom when i can't get any action at PPN.

well said, especially your point about prevention of collusion. I like the positional graphic that everleaf uses because i don't want to know what so and so had, i want to know what the guy in the corner had. Having to know the player's name is a step i usually want to skip. The more steps i can skip the quicker i can find the info i want in order to analyze the last hand on the fly

Freerolls and the bonus has been good to me. The leaderboard sounds promising, we will see. So far the other promotions havent' panned out for me.

i played 280 hands of holdem, omaha and omaha hilo yesterday. Occassionally i get in over 400 hands. This translates into a good few hours of continuous play sometimes. This is not typical however and depends a lot on your willingness to start a table. Fortunately, there are not a lot of hit and run players who often try to prey on people who start tables like there are at the more popular poker rooms.

You also might want to consider whether it is important to you to help an alternative poker room get started; it is to me.

The well established sites offer a lot fewer promotions because their success no longer depends on having a lot of new players. The promotions may not be as good 6 months from now if the site takes off so take advantage of them while you can.

Also, it seems like withdrawal times for USA players it getting slower and slower at other poker rooms. My first Western Union withdrawal at PPN took less than 10 days, and that included the time to have documentation approved. I also had a pic club withdrawal that only took a day or two.

It seems this site is just blablabla and when you need some information-help no one to find or, if you run in to someone accidently, he knows nothing. Even this forum is dead. Probably the best move right now is to avoid them untill they improve!

Have a nice day!

RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR AT PPN

We had some questions about the RNG used at PPN so I thought I would explain it here for you.

We use a RNG that is triggered by the GMT clock so each deal starts with a random number in its equation.

Also we use a single stack system. This means at the start of each hand there are 52 cards shuffled and stacked in the database just like a live deal. The cards are then dealt from the top of the software stack as it is needed. We do not re-shuffle the cards after each card is dealt as some poker rooms do. There are some that believe that by re-shuffling every time you use a card it could open the door for card manipulation.

We feel stacking 52 cards just like a real dealer would and using them in order from top down is a truer representation of a Live Deal.

We all see bad beats from time to time but I believe you will find our RNG system to be very fair and reliable.

I appologize, the support and Gio here are fine, it took some time to get a response, but they are on start and quite busy probably, so I hope the rest will be good too, maybe I will give a try...

add some 6 man and 9 man o8 sit-n-gos, $2, $5 to get it started

add some cheap $2, $3 and $5 o8 pl tourneys 1500 starting chips, see how they do. maybe offer turbo and normal speed for the sit-n-gos. merge and carbon don't offer nl o8 sit-n-gos, but they were quite popular on pokerstars.

Hurray for the leaderboards!! The leaderboard page is pretty precise. After reading it at least twice I do have some questions and suggestions. Big surprise eh?

The leaderboard page link you provided presents two leaderboards: a tourney leaderboard and a raked hand leaderboard. Do we get tourney points for playing in a sit n go, a satellite tourney (free or otherwise) or anything other than a regular tourney?

How about reducing the minimum players needed for tourneys from 10 to 4, at least until traffic increases? I think this will get more players involved in tourneys. How about some Omaha hilo tourneys? How about fixing the glitch that keeps you from being taken to the tournament table if the tournament registration/information window is not open?

These events we can qualify for are very cool and innovative. What is interesting, and perhaps unique, is that winning a tournament leaderboard or a raked hand leaderboard does not guarantee that you will win any cash. You can win the leaderboards, lose in the events you qualify for and get nothing. The way most sites do leaderboards the winners are guaranteed something of value. If there are no guaranteed prizes for the leaderboards then it looks a lot less desirable to grind your butt off all month.

From what I see, getting first in a leaderboard is no better than getting tenth place except perhaps in qualifying for the seeded tourney. The seeded heads up freeroll is interesting and innovative. I’m happy to see it as a perk for the raked hands leaderboard since I am doing better there than in the tournament leaderboard. However, seeding in an event is usually based on skills or past success. This would make more sense if it is used to represent success in the tourney leaderboard. A big loser can do well in a raked hand leaderboard, so success on that leaderboard does not represent skill or past success.

The Bonus page linked to the home page of the website shows this:

Leader Board Position
1st Place 100
2nd Place 75
3rd Place 50
4th Place 25
5th Place 10

Is this a third leaderboard? Are these cash prizes or just additional points awarded? If not for cash, what are these points good for? Incidentally, I noticed that the poker pros points on this page are calculated differently from the way the raked hands leaderboard points are calculated.

Re: *** Official Poker Pros Network Support and Promotions Thread ***

I had noted in the the previous thread the apparent change from day to day about the way the last hand replay does not work, wondering if anyone at PPN knows how to hit the save button. That may have been an overreaction. It may be that there have not been a lot of changes but that it works differently on different tables. Here is what i have noticed lately:

works ok on Omaha and Omaha hilo limit tables, as far as I can tell from playing heads up

does not work in the freeroll (shows only the board)

does not work on FL holdem (shows only the board)

Re: *** Official Poker Pros Network Support and Promotions Thread ***

One of the promotions shown on the leaderboard (raked hand) page shows this:

"Top 3 finishers each week will get to play the PPNCEO headsup. 1st place will play for 50.00, 2nd place for 35.00 and 3rd place for 20.00. Each time the PPNCEO wins a headsup match he will add money to the pot. 1st Place will add 10.00 2nd place will add 5.00 and 3rd place will add 2.00. Once the pot is won by a player the next week will revert back to the original pot starting value."

Poor Chuck needs a chance to get two thirds of his money back!!! Just kidding Chuck, sounds like fun.
