I don't think I have ever had any freeze-ups until today. Seemed like they just wouldn't stop. I uninstalled and reinstalled the client after the games were over. Guess I will see tomorrow. DOE told me to turn off my antivirus and I did but it didn't help.

Nothing showing on this page but I did see some listed on the homepage.

This is probably a good thing. No reason to have signups 24 hours or more ahead of a freeroll. Probably better to have it as close as possible to the start time. I wondered why so many were sitting out when the registration was so close to the start time. I still say either remove them from the game after a set number of missed levels.

I gotta say that i love the new tourney schedule and the addition of a few small guaranteed tourneys are great too, although i feel like they need more of these throughout the day.

39suited is correct about the glitches and i have been saying the same thing for the last few months. People do not want to play on a site they feel is half finished. I know some are minor and/or cosmetic but it still would lead to a more professional and appealing product. I have only had the problem of not being able to rebuy in the 25$ gtd but i closed then reopened the client and had no problems after that. Oh, and I still only get the prefold or preaction options only part of the time.

And what happened to the cash games?? Before Gio announced the "influx" of new players, there were not many cash tables running but we were starting to get a full table sometimes and were seeing some new names. After that announcement, it has been a ghost town. When are the new players coming??

I would be interested in sitting in a few times. The problem is that so few games run that no one knows when to expect them. How many of the usual players we see in the tourneys post here? Does anyone use the PPN chat rooms any more? Any way to put out a notice or schedule a regular game or two?

Let's toss out a few ideas on how we can get some people together.

I had forgotten about the PPN chat rooms. But the few times i have ventured there it was empty. Im curious to how many even know they exist. And not many seem to post here, but ive seen a few.

When I signed up in May 2011, the chat rooms seemed to be more active while the games were going on. A couple of the players even did a play-by-play internet broadcast during some of the freerolls. Several players were in a PPN Skype group. Just seems like the delay in getting this version of PPN up and running correctly has kept many away.

Here it is 3 hours until my weekly rake race winner event and it still is not posted. Lately I have received an email notice that i was entered but not this time. In the past this has resulted in Chuck paying out anyway, which is good because Chuck isn't the slouch he claims to be and I can use the money. I may as well take wifey to dinner. I'm hoping dinner is on Chuck.

From my conversation during the $25 Guaranteed game with DOEceDOE it would seem the preferred choice of contact is via Skype. I am on the PPN group list, just never use it and as I haven't gotten any group messages maybe no one else is either. That being said, I chatted with DOE, DocMicro, and Must8Fish on Skype tonight. Are you two Skype users or do you have any interest in becoming Skype users? There is a group messaging feature that might be handier than trying to track players down here. If you already have user names on Skype, please PM them to me here so I can add you to my contact list.

DOE didn't seem interested in using 2+2 at all.

On a different subject, tonight's games worked much better. I had the game lobbies open and both my tables popped up on time. I did have to shut everything down in order to do a rebuy and that still sucks. No hangups or disconnects and all of my cards were visible.

I'm not a huge cash game player but I have a reasonable freeroll bankroll that needs to be put to use. As long as the stakes are kept low I will play about any game offered.

Join me on the fixed micro limit tables. It's not exciting or glamorous but it is cheap fun. Would you rather take 5 bucks of me in an hour or take $10 off me in 5 minutes?--Don't answer that!!!

I don't know much about skype. Do you need a webcam for that? I don't want to put pants or a shirt on.

You don't need a webcam, it's an instant messaging program that can also be used for video and phone calls if you have the equipment for it.

I don't have a webcam and I wouldn't be a pretty sight in my poker finest either. I've just used it a few times to get messages from other PPN players. Last night is the most I have used it. You can use it as an IM program, as 39suited said, or even to send email to another user. Just Google Skype and download it. You will have to set up a user name and password, like most other applications. Then you just give your username to another Skype user and they can add you to their contact list.

Pick a time, day, and game/stakes you want to play and I'll post a message for the group on Skype to get started.

Re: *** Official Poker Pros Network Support and Promotions Thread ***

I got the following email from PPN today:
"Both the Rake Race and Tournament Leader Boards are off for a few weeks while we are revamping the tracking software. We've temporarily halted the Top 3 H2H with the PPN.CEO as well.

We are in the middle of a huge software update that in essence removes all the games and tournaments we started with that have all the patches and adjustments clinging to them from our original start up which makes them run less and less stable over time as I'm sure you've been seeing.

Every game/software on the site will be new over the next two weeks and should from then on run much smoother. After this is achieved, we will be adding back both of those tournament Leader Boards and eventually even more ways and entries to win.

Giving you the long answer with the added information and insight as to what is happening on this network because you've become a valued player and we have appreciated both your input and patience as we've worked to develop our software.

Be sure to enter the Independence Day Freedom $400.00 this Saturday July 7th 4pm et. Buy-in is only $4.00 + 0.40. Even with the rebuys and add-on, there'll probably be a good overlay.

Thank you much again,

The PPN Team"

This was in response to an email to customer support asking what happened to last night's rake race event. I am posting it because who knows if Gio will wander in here anytime soon and maybe tell us what is going on.

Glad that they are finally working on the software, but this part was probably not the smartest thing to say in an official customer support reply:

I've always found them to be pretty informative when emailing support. I am sure proprietary info is not widely shared but normal software upgrades or day-to-day processes have never been hidden. The owner is one of the people on the Skype group and he plays in games frequently so it isn't like he avoids his customers.

It is nice to hear they are working on making things run more smoothly.

This is the kind of stuff that the appointed rep should be posting on forums when it first goes out though. Also, the website should be updated at the same time.

Sir, I had the same question and was given the same answer. Kuddos to PPN for doing the software update and bringing a new site for us to play on. You sound like sour grapes. I believe is at the discretion of any site how to and when to run promotions. They do offer many other promotions that players can take advantage of. As for the Rake Race promotion, they told me they are in the process of deploying a new scoring system that offers more chances to win and at different levels to allow a more broad range of Promotions and Winners. At no point did they ever commit to any players, including me, a forever freeroll promo. So, now that I have said my peace.... may peace be with you and I hope you find a site you will be happy with somewhere far, far away. You really need to get a life !! Me personally? Can't wait to see what PPN rolls out for us players.

I am also anxious to see what the new promotions are. It is no secret that they are re-vamping the tourney point scoring system, it appears on the promotion/leaderboard page. Anyone who has followed this thread closely knows that i was the one who pointed out that they were giving points on the tourney leaderboard for placing in freerolls, which is a stated reason for the change.

While it is at the "discretion of any site how to and when to run promotions", it is not within their discretion to promise a promotion and not honor the promise. Not even an agreement to TOS which may say otherwise would operate as consent to intentional or implicit fraud. That is what i would call it if what they are doing is withdrawing it after the players have earned a qualification for the promotion. The definition of fraud is a misrepresentation justifiably relied upon to the victim's detriment. I am not accusing them of intentional fraud at this point. I have often acknowledged that have acted fairly in the past to compensate for their mistakes. It was a mistake to withdraw the promotion without advance notice. I have replied to their email asking them to compensate last week's rake race event qualifiers. If you were among the qualifiers and get paid because of my efforts you can thank me later.

You obviously are not familiar with the parable of sour grapes. If you are not among the qualifiers and still complain that they probably wouldn't have paid anyway then that would fit the sour grapes parable. I qualified. Did you?

Thanks for stopping by the Unofficial Poker Pros Network Input and Venting Forum thread. I am not affiliated with the site in any way. For over three months I have been reading the official Poker Pros Network Support and Promotions Forum Thread and admittedly, I have posting profusely. Sometimes Iím right, sometimes Iím wrong, sometimes I spout off without knowing all the facts. Welcome to my world. Maybe you can do better.

PPN has been my favorite poker room for several months. The promotions have made it worth my while and the leadership has been attentive and principled. Nevertheless, I have been one of their most vocal critics. Go figure.

Feel free to offer constructive criticism or just vent about the traffic, the software, whatever, but please do not make personal.

The site owner, Chuck Kidd, playername PPNCEO, is been said to diligently followed the official thread. I hope this thread takes off and that he will read it also. If so then this may be a moment of critical opportunity to influence the development of PPN. This is so because they are currently revamping the promotions, and hopefully the software too. We are already seeing some nice changes to the offered tourneys list, making it friendlier to small stakes players and actually rounding up enough player for the tourneys to run

What do you think, or feel? Letís hear it

*

Daily Dissatisfaction Report

A player put out before the break in the $400 guarantee rebuy/add on tourney complained that there was no pop up offering him to rebuy. He was understandably upset. Another player complained that he couldnít see his cards on a hand when he was in the small blind. I would have bluffed.

The tourney lobby window didnít say it was a rebuy/add on tourney but I assumed it was. Also, in the official thread, SouthernPot had relayed this fact from his conversation on skype with some PPN employees. The tourney apparently had a decent overlay, as one might expect with a $4 entry and only 25 players. However, the tourney lobby window does not provide us with the data to know how much the overlay was. I would guess it was at least $150

The Rep finally showed up in the official thread after a two week absence. His first post back from his hiatus was dismissive. Five hours later he did post a link to info on the new Visit the Boss promo, which I had asked about 3 days earlier.

There is no one sitting at a cash table, registered for an upcoming tourney or registered for a SNG. In other words, same ole same ole.

I think i will leave, not the site, but this thread. I have started a new thread and if you cannot post without making it personal, then you are not invited.

You appear to be new to the forum. I admit I haven't learned the many intricacies, like multi quoting. I have learned some decorum.

Indy, I fully understand your frustration and I would suggest you continue to monitor this thread.

To use the multiquote feature, find the first place you want to reference and rather than clicking the QUOTE button, click the button directly to its right. Then find the next posting and do the same. When you get to the last posting you want to reference, click the QUOTE button and it will take you to the advanced page with all of the postings listed. Then you just go through and type in your reply to each section.

I don't know ladyluk but I am assuming she is someone I spoke with on Skype. I did not get a reply from her but I also take it from something she said that she works for PPN. I don't know how harsh your email to them was but she indicated she had read it and it was uncalled for.

Regardless of how harsh your email was, I don't think you should be dismissed out of hand.

Gio seems to have been reassigned and someone else I spoke with doesn't know if he still has duty here.

The support and promotions thread was started by the official PPNPoker Site Rep GioCanHelp. It is apparent to that thread’s regulars that Gio can’t help much, even on the rare occasions when he tries. His last post was 13 days ago. He didn’t’ bother to mention that PPN would soon withdraw certain promotions that would continue to appear on the promotions and leaderboard page to entice players to qualify for the events. Gio has failed.

I invite you to join a new thread:

You may want to ask a mod to lock your other thread as they may do so anyway.

...please use the OFFICIAL THREADS, as listed and linked above, when asking relevant questions or making comments.

This keeps all pertinent facts in the various official threads, instead of having duplicated threads and sometimes important information spread all over the forum. Obviously, this simple system benefits all forum-users.

thank you. that was informative. I have never started a thread before and I didn't know that threads have to be cleared, by the forum or the Official Rep. The new thread is not intended to offer support or official information on PPN. For example, there are at two threads I follow about Minted poker, a official thread and a "Where's my money?" thread. In the latter the players mostly vent their frustrations and exchange information they obtain from and about the site which has been noncommunicative with U.S. Let me be clear that I am no more concerned about my money on PPN than I would be on any other site, to the contrary in fact. That said, I don't see the difference. I did not intend to break forum rules. If i accidently broke the rules i will of course abide by their judgment.

Furthermore, without the significant involvement of an official Representative, this official support and promotions thread may as well be closed or the name changed to something more accurate.
