i'm just saying it is great that i've profitted over $1000 on ppn this year. Since i barely break even, if that, in cash games and cash tourneys, on the average. I'm grateful that there has been a place where a mediocre micro stakes player can make money off promotions, just like the good ole days. well not quite, i used to average a few hundred a month working promotions before 2012.
PPN had the right idea, offer inducements by being the only site that collects lower rake and offers promotions for small stakes players. But they rarely got more than a trickle of new players, probably because hardly anyone has heard of PPN. the promotions were designed to get people to play because there is nothing less attractive to a prospective player (even the obviously and perpetually flawed software) and discourages depositing than signing in and not finding a single person to play, even at what normally would be considered peak hours.
there usually was not enough action to keep from being bored most of the time, but at least i had something to work toward viz. the rake races and it was an excuse to postpone depositing on the other sites, which nowadays cater only to the big stakes players.
If you see me playing anywhere these days it is most likely a merge freeroll or HWP leagues.
