sort of. But this is what sucks about zoom. For one it just looks ridiculous if you try and play multiple tables and stack.

If you don't stack, and play with a mouse and 1-4 table all might be well.

But you still get way more hands even stacking zoom, because whenever you fold you are dealt into a hand INSTANTLY, rather than waiting for the hand to play out? But it just looks and feels terrible. Even with animations off. It is epic for casual players and fish imo.

However it makes casual players and fish naturally play tighter. Which is worse for the game. No longer does a fish need to limp 25o utg just to see every hand so he can play nonstop. Now he can fast fold to the 57s and limp that instead. So he used to be a 95/3 player. Now he gets to be a 55/3 player.

Stars loses rake, we lose a lot of the fishiness.

another reason might be that i'm always with 2 massive bums at the table and they stealing my points...

tonight i had WC 658$ and MGR 995$ while playing 20/16 (SH and FR mix). haha, that's 35 ****ing percent... but games are good and i'm not SNE anymoar so what do i care...
I was just about to point out that you usually play with "massive bums".
It really can't be better in those cases with WC no matter what winning style you play. But on the bright side you'll win tons of $ from the bums.

I was in the same boat, played 21/18 or so for about 2 weeks and still was losing around 10% on average. I had pretty decent results too, so not sure about my WTSD off hand but obv wasn't just check folding. At the time you and thecooler both weren't there so I was the loosest reg, but still lost somewhat over the old system. Either way I've made adjustments and found what hours of the day suit me best and am ok with everything for now (even though I still think stars fleeced us all with this whole "we will actually lose money on the rake change") but like durden said, I'm a bit worried about what's going to happen now that the pool has been divided with the addition of zoom.

Are you comparing your current vpp/hand with your old vpp/hand?
Or are you comparing ON THE SAME hands the difference between WC and dealt formulas?

I for one import my hands in HM2 during play but after session I import them into HM1 as well. HM2 shows the correct vpp number while HM1 shows the old vpp system. So I compare on the same set of hands.
And for FR at least I think they do lose money with the new rake changes, my vpp rate dropped since they implemented them so they must be taking less rake from me.

Nothing bad is gonna happen, it's one of the best thing to happen on stars. I have never played rush before on FT so this zoom thing was completely new to me.
But it's great and it solves tons of problems ppl were complaining about:
-PTR is useless for zoom
-no datamining
-no problem starting a session, no 10+waitlist tables, etc
-no bumhunting, sitting out as soon as a fish leaves, etc
-no need to have 30 inch monitors and open 20 tables to put in 1k hands/hour
-faster play, attracts fish instead of scaring them away with long waitlists and long acting time during hands.

If you were asking me, yeah I do it the way you were saying, comparing my actual vpps on the hands I'm playing vs the way it used to be calculated last year.

Email from Stars regarding focus stealing on ZOOM

Thank you for your email and for allowing us to be of assistance.

Zoom is fast-paced ring game, where every time you fold you get re-seated at a new table, ready to take action again.

The game has been designed to retake the window focus every time a fold is done to speed up the game.

I really wish they would give you an option to disable it. Its nearly impossible to stack ZOOM tables alone, or with regular tables.

You won't need to stack ZOOM tables with regular tables anyways in the near future. I PMed Stefan and asked Stars support and they said 1 zoom table will count as 4 regular table... especially Stefan said this may take place as soon as the beginning of April...

You will be able to play only 6 zoom tables in total. So, no need to stack..

if you use a controller or hotkeys, using TN it isn't quite as bad.

You use TNs next and last table buttons, not stars' hotkeys. Then you also use 'cycle first in line' very important.

I use a controller, and set the left joystick as cycle first in line. So anytime a new table steals focus, you just flick the joystick in any direction and it undoes it. If it stalls you just hit the next or previous table.

It isn't flawless, but it isn't that bad either. I was 8 tabling zoom and bored, so hopefully they let at least SOME people play more than 6. I think I could 12-16 table it fairly easily at FR.

Can someone please explain to me the reasoning behind sitting out when the fish does? It boggles my mind.

Stars why can't you just not allow players to sit out on individual tables and play on others?

Wait, you guys are playing more than 4 ZOOM tables? Max for me is 4, and Ive never seen anyone else playing more than 4. I do have TN and able to cycle to first and last, but its still reallly annoying and so tilting

Making this the 6th FORCED game change for me personally in a little over 3 years. LHE->20bb/100bb->20/50bb->cap->40/100bb->zoom

I played 1/2 lhe for my first SNE, because the game actually ran and was beatable w/rb. Then they lowered the rb or whatever they did to kill the game. So I went to 20/100bb SSing. They split the player pool, so I stayed ssing 20/50bb. Then they offer cap, so I play that. That is unbeatable for most. So I 100bb. Now they offer zoom.

Pile on the 3 different countries and 2 different states I have had to move to, to continue playing. With ZERO compensation. I hate to bitch so much. But paying a company 300k in 3 years (after RB) and getting butt****ed at every turn, just sucks.

SO, someone PLEASE start competing against stars already. The game is WIDE open. Get some advertising going, get some better support and software, and lower your rake to 50% the 'industry standard'. And watch everyone flock to your site.
sounds like karma for being a shortstacking POS scum

I stacked 8 zoom and its quite confy. Saying 1zoom=4regular is ridic. For me at zoom is like 18tabling a mix of sh/fr. Prolly easy could do 10 or maybe 12 without slowing down action. However the less tables allowed the better fish reg ratio. I still hope they never inttiduce anything above 100. Rush played way different. There u still had a bunch of 40vpip++ droolers. At zoom i havent seen many of them. Geez even fish i have running with 55/5 running 12/5 at zoom - yis cannot be good...

oh and I hear a lot of people complain about HU tables and the problems. How about making all HU play zoom?

That would solve all the issues

surely the importance of dynamics and history would make zoom not playable hu (then again i kind of think this for 6max games anyway, but obv not to the same extent)

i do think there is something here tho....

just gonna throw this out there, i dont know much about hu so im sure it could get shut down easily:

why not have a hu player pool. when you enter it you are matched up with a random player. you may join up to 6 tables in this way.

however once you choose to quit people, you get a 2 hour lock out from the hu pool.

im not sure entirely how to implement this wrt what constitutes quitting, but i wonder if there is something there.
