You are a really tough out. That was a nasty table we had for a few hours there.

I think he was talking about his edge on the other big stack (Maratik), partly because of skill and partly because of position. I never heard him claim to have a skill edge over the 3 of us on his left. I had my own ideas about who had the edge, but nobody asked me. My contribution to the dealmaking was saying "I agree" when they put up my ICM equity. The 5 of them basically made the deal around me so I just let them.

As a monster stack you always have the edge, but I don't think it's ever bad to talk deal. You never know what someone will give up. Plus, once you start talking about the money it can tighten people up. Like if you say "sure let's talk deal" and then after someone sees a big number next to their name, you say "Nah, I'm not getting enough. Let's play" and you put them all in...it can be sickening for them. Of course, that can backfire too. If you're disrespectful during the deal talk someone can spite call you.
