4k VPP/day. What stakes do you play? Hope it's not too painful a grind for you!

The 1st couple days r always the hardest to get back into mass tables but should b ok. I got the 33k in a lil over 4 days at the start of the month. Fullring CAP 100-600 gets the job done.

I choose to manipulate my own mind into believing what I want it to believe (sounds like crazy talk but it works for me). Technique I used every day when I broke the VPP record a couple years back was to forget the past. Every morning before my first session I would pretend it was my first day of grinding after a long and relaxing vacation. I would meditate about it for at least 5 minutes, laying down with arms to side, completely relaxed, eyes closed, envisioning my peaceful vacation - sometimes Hawaii, sometimes Tibet. Then I would get up feeling fresh and ready to grind. Burnout is just a state of mind, same as anger or depression, we create it.

Wow great advice. Would that start to fade as you got further into your session though?

But how do we deal with the post-holiday blues?

20bb cap, you are bb vs a mp minraise. You appear to have no holecards. What do you do?

That was what I did. The dry flop misses you. Villain [1bunn] cbets. Anyone for a semi-bluff raise?

100% thats awesome. u lost a lil equity by not shovin pre but might have gained profit takin this line. i have had this problem also a few times a day where a table loses its call and fold buttons and just have to move the screen an inch for them to reappear.

I think call pre in that hand is good for balancing situations when you do get at least 1 holecard. Flop ch/f if you miss.

There were days I was surprised the day was already over it had gone so smoothly and others where every 1hr was like pulling teeth. Sometimes I had to meditate again every couple hours until the scenario I envisioned for myself set in as a reality in my mind.

One of my good friends calls this PVD, post-vacation depression, not sure if that's a real term or not. When you're meditating to feel enlightened from a retreat, of course you're going to leave out any negativity. PVD is the furthest thing from my mind when I'm creating a refreshing environment.

Good luck to you sir!

It's somewhat easy to relax, but actual mediation can be a challenge. So don't give up too easily when it doesn't work as well as you want at first. Try giving it a shot a few times a day for at least a week or two before considering giving up. Google some info about successfully meditating, it's amazingly powerful, and well worth it if you're willing to put in the time. And the better you get at it, the more you are likely to continue with it after seeing positive results.

For those interested in receiving advance notice (where possible), there is a server restart email list. Email vipclub@pokerstars.com to be added to the list. At this time it is only available in English.
