Has there been any talk of extending or dropping the deadline to take away SNE this year?
I was about to suggest the same thing. Extending or dropping the deadline(which was unfair anyway since we work for it for a year we should keep it for a year). Not only for the US players, as with the slight drop of traffic there are less tables during most of the day. It's significantly harder to retain sne now and many players might give up the chase.

if they gave uk players supernova. then are they gonna give all 300k vpp players from last year sne status if we relocate, just a thought. ONE TIME? never used mine so its still valid.

I am just a small grinder i was raked for 60k last year, seems only reasonable stars would do some kind of incentive to get americans to move who are high volume players. They could even build a big apt complex in the isle of man and invite all sne's to live there, making money off there rent and rake. So many thoughts.

gurantee i was good for making the site a million in my lifetime and im not even sne

LOL thats a sweet idea, make apartments to rent out to grinders lol.

Really impressed with the partial milestone credits.

Steve, is there any way to get an estimate on how long we might have to wait to get our accounts reinstated after sending in our documents? I sent mine in last Friday and have only heard word that they were forwarded to the security team for review.

I'm in a bit of a predicament being stuck in a foreign country with no possibility to work a part-time job while waiting, and not having any idea how long I might have to wait. If it's going to take a few weeks, I'd prefer to return to the States and work part-time until the process is complete, but I don't know if I need to be here in Canada in case I get a call from the security team.

Any advice on what I should do? Thanks!

Wow, what was the problem?

I've been living in Montreal since February and have been back and forth between here and NY several times since then without any problems.

Yeah I'm really interested to hear this story from him. I'm thinking maybe he showed up with a U-haul or something so they really wanted to know what was going on instead of him just driving up in a car and saying he was going into canada to just visit etc.

Pokerstars has now fully deserved, I'm impressed.

Can we use the concierge service now? I am just a little short of being able to buy the 4k bonus

My wife and I were detained and questioned today at the Vancouver border entrance because our story was suspicious. I immediately came clean with exactly everything I was doing in detail and they said there's absolutely no problem with that. They've had so many poker players come through that they immediately suspected that with me.

They were concerned that I'd have enough money to support myself. I had a cashier's check for 6K and about 1500 in cash and this wasn't enough. Fortunately, I had saved an atm receipt from the day before and showed that to them as proof.

Just tell em the truth and show up with a large cashier's check, bank statement, or atm receipt and you're good to go.

Note: I told them I'm staying for 4 months. They didn't stamp my visa with any specific date so I can stay here up to 6 months.

These are all not possible, but what is possible is just having temporary renewals a few times if you can show that you are not working and are not staying in the country for a long period consecutively. (Everyone seems to think you can cross a border then go back to home country and come back and the time resets but that is obviously not how it works lol). But in this case temporary renewals are allowed so long as a few conditions are met which I do meet. At any rate, going through all this just to play online poker is really getting to be insane. I know of some living in the US using a VPN with their accounts reinstated who give bs excuses that are seriously laughable that stars believes. It's ridic that me being legitimately down here can not only fail to get my account reinstated thus far but no help on the subject what so ever. Steve or anyone from stars can you help me please?
same situation. left everything behind in U.S to move to vietnam since I have family here. The process of providing document is slow since third world country run different, everything is hand written and the few people know decent english to understand. It pretty frustrating as I love playing on stars but I probably will have to switch site in order to play as it been a month already and I am need to make a living.

Similar story with me at the Vancouver border. Happened a few days ago. Did you tell them you were going to rent a place?
05-07-2011 , 12:06 AM
Yes told them I leased a place for 4 months and I had the lease agreement with me.

Are you serious?

You know you can get any kind of documents right? i just changed my address/country by providing a receipt for my accident insurance in a third world country as well. Big companies operate in the third world countries, with english letters. Or at least you Address and Name are in English. Just scan those, scan the visa in your passport and boom. Finish.

Other than accident insurance (cost me 100$ for the year) you could get a bank account (scan passbook/contract).. Even a gym membership with legit information from the gym on how to contact them so stars can verify. Just drive around the higher class establishment and find for yourself a service they offer.. If there's a marina im sure you can get an english contract somewhere

Wow thanks for the post, that's really good to hear. I don't have any big bank account balance though. I haven't cashed out anything with stars yet... Maybe I should before going so I do have that to show? I'm not sure if they would accept a screen shot from PS

I dunno I got family close to Vancouver I mean if i COULDNT support myself I'd go back into the US and be a bum I wouldnt just wander the streets in Canada.

***Edit****

Just realized, if this is an insanely awesome/terrible level to get people to do exactly what they SHOULDN'T do... Well played... and I hope you burn in hell! Or at least get sucked out on a ton... you know whichever

What is the usual timeframe for when the yearly wsop package is released? Anybody remember when it was released last year? Maybe towards the end/following the conclusion of the scoop?
05-07-2011 , 04:42 AM
It looks like it was April 23 of both 2009 and 2010 when they released it the last two years.http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/2010/p...sa-069074.html I am interested to see what happens with patch deals and such for american players this summer.

It's not a level, answer their questions truthfully and you're in. It's not just me saying this either, at least two other people from other threads were detained, questioned, and eventually let in after telling the truth.

I truly believe that a poker player's only chance of not getting in to Canada at this point is lying (barring a criminal record or lack of $ to support yourself), based on my discussion with border patrol. They're well aware of our situation, the number of players that are coming through, and they've already made their decision on it.

Pokerstars Steve- just sent VIP Club all my information to relocate, let me know how everything goes.

Also, I gotta run around quick but within the hour will post my story about crossing the Canadian border two nights ago. Has anyone else tried going over since, and if so at what border crossing and what was your experience like?

I wish that was all I need. Just got a call from stars saying I need to go to embassy and get an approve stamp saying I am a permanent resident. Plus a utility bill and bank statement. Does anyone else need those requirement? Also what should I tell the embassy?

edit: stars reject a local police station stamp saying that i am staying here.

Hey DonJuan,

I am thinking about doing exactly what you're doing. I read on the internet researches that if you were born in Vietnam, you are dual citizen if you were naturalized later. Most people just need their visa, utility, and bank statement; why is Stars needing you to go to the embassy? Please let me know how it turns out.

No clue as I was shock when he said that they need me to go to embassy and get a permanent resident. He keep saying that stars can't accept my 3 month stay stamp, which I explain that I have to wait 2.5 weeks before it expire and get it extend again. still they won't accept that. I mean when all this happen I was led to believe all I need was my passport and a utility bill.

I rush here within a week with the help of my dad. I had to lie to everyone here in Vietnam that I am staying to study for school and work as a stock broker. As gambling is frown upon in Vietnam. I mean I don't mind getting whatever stars need but the problem is I might not be able to get it even if I try. Like how am I suppose to tell the embassy and how long does it take as I don't think it is within a week process. What am I suppose to do? as I already invest everything in this.

This seems to be arbitrary on Stars' part. The people who I read that successfully relocated to Canada, Costa Rica only need: American passport, utility bill, bank statement at their new place. No one has needed embassy before. Why you? I would contact Stars and have it escalated perhaps?
05-07-2011 , 10:30 PM
Can someone from stars make an official post on these requirements? As I think it would totally be unfair for me to need a citizenship of the country I am staying in in order to play and other don't.
