@needbeer, do u write your posts in this forum while 24-tabling? hard to imagine, since ive trouble doing it 6 tabling...
you are way off. Just because the guys you names (maybe all top 10 online tourney players) have had insane results playing mtts doen't mean anyone can come close to what those guys have done. You might as well say "Hey guys i heard durrrr made $6 million playing cash games, are they the real deal?" Mtts are definitely a grind and in my view you don't have anywhere the same amount of freedom with your time because of you are at the mercy of the mtt schedule.

I would have to make a lot better hourly than I am now to switch to MTTs. Schedule sucks and getting sucked out on deep in a tourney is agony.

true you can play 6hours+ and not even cash this is just sick i prefer to lose 1BI by getting sucked out than waste 6 hours

MTT variance is awful.

Yeah, I grind and post often. All my posts yesterday were while 24 tabling 6max cash.

i would like proof of this. i would be willing to guess the opposite direction for the top MTT grinders. of course then at the top of the SNE grinders included i guess....

so TOP SNE grinders we would say probably make 400-800k? maybe a little high at the top? and the TOP MTT grinders probably make the same, maybe a little low at the top. on averages per hour though i would say long term an SNE would make more per hour.

from what i can gather from top tourney pros vs myself and the somewhat frugal nature it seems itt i would tend to think we (SNE's) blow a lot less money on being "baller" and on poker activities (defined as cash games for tourney players). SNE's probably spend a lot more money on earning related expenses like monitors and comfy desk chairs.

Not high if you include rakeback.. hell I'm in that range and there are plenty of SNE that are better players than myself.

SNEs:
1. Relatively steady income, but hours can drag on.. boring at times. Every day is the same.
2. Flexible hours.

MTTs:
1. Unsteady income. The highs are high and the lows are low. Drug additions are recommended to balance emotions. One lucky day can change your life.
2. Hours are not as flexible.

WCOOP is over, the billion promotion is over, and now the tables are DEAD. I'm fighting against the same 5 regs on every table right now. Time for another promotion.. make October a good one!

i played my first 1-2 PLO short BI games ever last night and this morning. going in i had some assumptions from playing short tables vs reg tables at higher stakes.

A. the VPPs would be higher
B. the rake would be higher
C. the winrates would be slightly higher because the games are infinitely softer but ridiculously raked.
D. i would accept these things

well B was true, A was false, C was too early to tell about the winrates but def true about the softness. D became false when A was false and B was true. then i realized how do we really know. we need a software that will separate these 2 and 3 table types. we also need that software to accurately count VPPs and rake.

does anybody know if this software exists? can anybody make this software? if you can get in touch and let me know what your time is worth and how long you believe it will take to make it. i will pay $ on stars or cash or wire transfer or some other form of payment.

All i want in the software but each are very important:

-software to treat each table limit and each blind size as its own game type/filter. like PT has filters for SH tables and FR tables and HU tables as it is imported. i want to add the buy in size to this.

-counts VPPs accurately, last year HEM did not count accurately, this year it does.

-tracks rake, both what i pay and the collective group.

I never understood why they made the changes in PLO, the shortstacking situation isn't even remotely the same in PLO when a) you can't just jam over a min-raise open (pot-limit) and b) you can hardly ever get it in as much of a favorite preflop anyway. It just doesn't make sense. There was nothing wrong with the PLO tables before the change.

I WISH!!! this would rock for PLO and IMO NL too but i dont play NL very much and esp when it is high enough to be difficult to get 24 tables.

The Big changes stars should make are increasing vpps to 6 per $1 from 5.5 and initiate a lifetime vpp milestone bonuses.

No announcements on this are coming for some time. Buy-in options will be reviewed leading up to the new year. News on this topic will not be posted in this thread.
