Has anyone done anything really wacky to motivate themselves in the past? I'm looking for inspiration. If I make a run, I'm going to have to build my number of tables, my physical stamina, and rebuild my bankroll all at the same time. I like the potential challenge, but it's lacking in humor value.

just wanted to say I thank all of you SNE chasers for doing this, its like jesus atoning for our sins, I dont have to do it but I find huge pleasure in watching other people do it because its just such a insane effort.

Attention future SNEs:
Please don't post something like "I'm thinking of going for SNE, how many VPPs/hour can I get 16 tabling NL 100?"

SNE is 2740 VPPs/day. Sit down and play one day until you have 2740 VPPs. Then imagine doing that every day for a year. You'll have your answer.

It would take me over 6 hours a day for the whole year to make SNE; LOL, if I can play 4 hours a day, I will be proud of myself.

My main concern with going for SNE is that I won't improve as a poker player

I'm intend to get SNE in 09. I got 400k vpp this year despite having an almost full time job, being married with 2 kids and playing a large amount of mtt's. My job is now down to about 10 hours a week and should be even less as the year goes on. I'm not planning on getting divorced , but my wife is great about understanding poker is my job and letting me play as much as I need too.

If I find my game really suffers due to the grind, then i'll give up and go back to trying to improve and continue playing MTTs as well as other sites etc.

However with my work ethic, I think I should be able to maintain pace with the additional hours i'll have to play.

im contemplating going for sne this year but im still unsure. I played most of the year on cake+ full tilt + ap up until the last 2 months. I got 80k vpps in last 40 days of the year to get supernova and have contemplated going for it this year. I feel like im a big dog so the only way ill end up doing it is if i bet a large amount on myself to make it against my degen friends. The only way i have a shot is if there are

1. SCOOP step 6s
2.WSOP double vpp month for steps
3. 200 $ DON
4. 9 man 115-335 go off more frequently (not during hard day schedule)
5. Move up to highest 6 max as well.

Since im a bit of a nit when it comes to game selection it helps to play all the games but idk im still undecided if i want to go for it. I got a day to decide rly since i would want to get of to a huge head start.

As one who is contemplating busting my butt playing low-stakes limit to achieve SNE, this is an interesting dilemma. I could certainly 24-table 2000-2200 hours this year to do so, but how does one improve their game during the process? For me it is difficult to improve playing so many hands per hour.

Suggestions?

I am currently deciding whether to try to actually beat the games this year or... just do what I did last year. SNE would be much easier to get if people would stop taking my bankroll.

Odds I make SNE playing only 50 NL FR?? Not good.

With fractional VPPs? I got a shot.
