13k VPPs = -$1400 for this donkey.
01-05-2008 , 02:05 PM
Okay...I am hooked, committed, crazy enuf to shoot for SNEhood. And I got a new 24" IMAC to seal the deal. At present, I am wrestling with 4 tables, which is probably all I will try for a while. Can someone maybe post some hints for multi-tabling, as it is a fairly new science, and I would think many folks dreaming of being a SNE would greatly appreciate. For example:

1. is there a way to get around the single/double-clicking problem (single when the table is high-lighted, double when not)

2. is there such a thing as a touchscreen where you don't need a mouse (just touch with your finger)

3. is there a way to seamlessly add and kill tables, rather than need to go to lobby and make about 5 clicks (I am playing limit holdem, 5-10, 10-20, and 15-30)

4. in limit games it seems like I am forever posting blinds, and then when I get the button, everybody flees...is there a way to stop that leak?

5. How does one maximize quickly 4 tables to fill the screen monitor (in my case, 24 inch IMAC)?

6. any other suggestions for getting a leg up on this insane quest?

Thanks.

if you are only 4 tabling I don't think you are going to make it to Elite.

On the windows client there is an option under "Option -> Advanced Multitable Options" to fix this.

I suppose it could be done, but you'd need a touch screen monitor first... given enough time some AHK-like tools should emerge that lets you use the keyboard to bet/raise/call etc.

Not within PS software itself (again AHK style tools would help)

On the PC software there is a button on the dealer tray to tile the tables.

I dunno, I'm just happy if I make regular Supernova this year.

Everyone - Big emergency!!

On the SupernovaElite page on Stars they have changed things up and gone back to just offering your choice of 2 of the 3 big packages.
There is no APPT-Australia option.
There is no 'option 2' allowing you to take $10k in place of one of the tourney packages.

Since they re-designed the page to a more readable chart I'm just thinking this is an oversight on their part and they just included old information. I noticed this yesterday but decided not to start the panic-machine on this until today.

http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/supernova/elite/

Thankfully, the info of the 600k and 800k milestones is still the same on the Supernova page.

Haha, worry not chez, I won't be dropping out anytime soon. I'm a little behind pace with 10k points, but I haven't hit my stride yet. Can't wait till I hit a 300+ bet downswing so I can put in a full week of 10k hand days

And chez, was "nitendo" just a weird Freudian slip?

I didn't realize this was ever an option. So you're saying we can take $10K rather than go to PCA?

Yes it is now an option mr jake

I am not making a run at elite this year but am seriously thinking of going all out next year at it. If I can get a limit holdem player to let me know how many vpps you get in a 3/6 FR game on average per hand, I would greatly appreciate it. I am thinking of grinding 20 tables next year of 5/10 and 3/6 FR a session next year. So if anyone is currently doing this then I would love to hear your experiences.

Thanks from a 2+2 newbie!

We updated the site with new VIP pages that were created before the change was made. It will be updated in a few days.

Hrmph.

I wasn't even considering doing this...buuutt with my usual play it looks like I would prob get there, esp. when playing 5/10.

Wait. Scottyy:

Add 6m/FR because there is no choice between the two right now. Also, you can oplay >12 tables now.

Also, please knock the table limit down to 16. This matches FTP but doesn't screw up the games. It is sick how slow the games get when people like SobraoBoy are ruining them with constant timing down

Thank you sooo much, Bremen, for the excellent suggestions! You have made it a whole lot easier for me, and I wish you best of luck in 2008...it's really nice to get good answers from a stranger...

Am I reading this right? 520 VPP's /hr by 4-tabling 5/10 6 max tables? Do they have to be high speed tables? That seems like an awful lot for 5/10; I played 5/10 full tables and got a whole lot less...there may be hope for SNE yet if this is true...would like to hear more from you, SFCellman, if you feel like it.

at 100 hands / hour / table it would mean 130vpp/100hands. the average number of hands/hour is higher than 100 though (don't know exact numbers) so I wouldn't say it's that far off. and you played full tables so it's less hands/hour anyway

ummmm, open 4 tables of 6-max, play for an hour, see how many points you get.
This can't possibly be that hard to figure out.

i'm really amazed at all these posts of, "Can someone PLEEEEEAAAAAAZZZZEEEEE tell me how many points you get at such-and-such stakes?"
It takes 20 or 30 minutes on just 1 damn table to get a decent idea.

To me this is like asking, "Can someone PLLLLEEEEAAAZZEEEE tell me if there are a lot of 1/2 NL tables running on Stars right now. I really don't feel like opening up the lobby and looking for myself."
01-06-2008 , 03:24 AM
22,183 as of 2:00am stars time, jan 6th.

ewww... rough night...... felt really spewy and even got to run into quads at the same time on 2 tables of $400NL

Up to 23,204 VPP so far time for some sleep. Getting about .45 VPP/hand on 9 max NL 100 and up $3800 so far. Mostly retired from MTT's this year because my propensity to take bad beats was just overboard.
01-06-2008 , 09:33 AM
20 634 vpp after 51 374 nl200$ full ring hands.

What time of day do you generally play? Do you have a looser style? This vpp rate seems fairly high for NL100

I average about 60 VPP per 100 3/6 FR Limit hands.
