Making $10k+ by casino bonus whoring. They even had autoplay on BJ so I didn't have to actually play myself. It was basically them insisting I have some of their money.

Good times.

Pacific Poker used to have auto quaders every Friday night and Saturday night and frequent Saturday days. You know the guy who quads any two until the river. losing with AA or KK to 7/2 off happened a few times to me. Then there was the all in donks with two random cards.... Oh yeah those guys still exist.....

Poor fish would get absolutely creamed nowadays.
He was getting creamed. He just wasn't getting totally destroyed. Trust me he lost good money.

Just before UIGEA two places/rooms could exceed the mythical 300,000 logged in players! Maybe many above 100,000...

Now? Maybe two above 20,000...

I remember Party Poker Beginner's tables, which had a bug or something (don't remember) so non beginners could play on them. That was easy money. Also, Party Poker 9-max tables, which for some reason played much looser than 10 person tables despite there being only a 1 person difference. I cried when Party got rid of those.

I remember the original Poker.com (the one that got hijacked in 2002). I really liked that site a lot. Also, I remember when Pokerroom.com was a play money site only. One could win a T-shirt/prizes over there instead of real cash. How could I forget the original "America's Card Room" (not the one on the Ongame network). I also remember when TruePoker offered Texas Hold 'em Hi/Lo! I love reminiscing about the good old days of online poker. Sorry if I went back too far, I think OP only wanted to hear about online poker from 2003-2006.

i sucked back then.
>but i do fondly recall Poker Room in the Public Library [didn't even have my puter back then], trying to fist-pump during a 1/2 nlhe session as quietly as possible.
>filling out an email survey, and then grinding out 9 hrs in a PLO freeroll
[I had NEVER played PLO b4 this] and coming within 3 spots of a gift certificate for 50.00 in Omaha Steaks @ Paradise.

Omaha Chris,

Why don't you open, too, just the opposite thread -
"The bright future of the New Days" ?

Maybe, 3,000,000 Chinese and 2,000,000 Indian new players will not hurt the poker.

Making 3x as much in poker/casino bonuses as actual profit...sigh.

I was another ****** who never really worked on his game and/or tried to move up...kept a bankroll good enough for 3/6 limit and withdrew every month because I actually kinda needed the money...never tried multi-siting and playing more than 4 tables because it seemed too hard. Now I play much better and grind 12 tables on FT to make like half as much $$$. FML.
