Perhaps I've been running good, but what the poster is suggesting is false and ridiculous. Your odds are excellent in the bad areas. In the good areas, which is 99% of the state, there is simply as little issue with crime or thugs as any other area of the USA.

would you walk around 99% of nyc at night and feel safe.
would you walk 2 or 3 blocks from some casinos in AC at night in those slummy areas and feel safe...
if so, I think you are 99% crazy...
I have been to AC dozens of times and I
would NEVER EVER walk around those areas at night
the logical statement is that most of jersey is like EVERY big city in the country
there are huge areas where you are simply not safe
