Anyone know what effect, if any, the new online poker laws in NJ will have on Bovada? Is there a chance they could be shut down to NJ players?

Not necessarily good news if you're a player imo. The ROW games are so tough now, and their total population overwhelms NJ, so if you combine the player pools, the NJ sites become as tough as the rest of the world. Thanks, but no thanks.

Agreed, terrible news or more likely a complete non-story. It sounds like a country's legislature would have to pass an agreement which is preposterous. Is the UK parliament really going to take up whether or not they should approve NJ's reciprocal agreement. Not to mention the US has been in violation of WHO decrees for many years by preventing US citizens from playing on foreign sites. Now we are going this offer this service from NJ and not expect the feds to put the kibosh on it.

Reciprocal agreements with states (other than perhaps DE) are years and years away at best and only the smallest states will come along as setting up their own state monopoly is probably more profitable for the bigger states.

This would indeed suck, as my win rate has never been this high. How about you just include PA and Delaware and we call it a day.

Don't you think additional players benefit cash game players and pose a problem for MTT players?

In cash games you are playing one table at a time versus 1 to 8 players. You of course increase that by multi tabling. More players, more opportunities to find soft players. Edge to proficient players. Less "luck" factor.

In MTT you increase the tournament prize money but you decrease the chances of cashing with more players. Even proficient players have to avoid the "luck" of the many instead of the few.

I'm sure there is a way to calculate these possibilities especially in MTT's but it's Saturday morning.

I completely agree. I want the games kept as is. I don't want anything to happen that encourages more grinders to enter the games, as they are great right now. I don't even want Stars to enter NJ.

Bigger prizepools and large scores pose no problems for me imo

i still can not believe how many people do not want other states to join? NJ probably has the best poker players in the country anyway besides Nevada so adding more states would just make the games softer. You might be right about adding countries that would probably make the games more difficult

Really? This can't be true. If so bring on other states.

The only state I would want to join is Florida so my friend can play. He deserves it.

I know Merge has shutdown to NJ players from what I read. I tried to log on and it says my account is suspended.

NJ just needs to legalize marijuana now. The revenue from online gambling and legalized pot would help the state greatly. Time to do away with these archaic drug laws that the majority in this state and country DO NOT agree with!

I thought this was a democracy.

I am against pooling with international but setting up the ability to pool with other states would be huge. If the games ever get as tough as they are in ROW then I would want to pool, but I don't see that happening for a long time.

In case some of you still have money on Carbon and don't know it is freezing NJ out, see this thread. Looks like one guy is not getting his balance. Not sure about others.

Just got knocked out of the 70k guarantee.. amazing. Made a mistake but thought it was worth the shot. Obviously not.

Blinds are 50/100. Guy raises to 280 and I have the button. I call. Flop comes Q Q 10. He runs down all the time clock and checks. For some reason I thought it was sitting him out. I quickly bet 100 and he calls. Next card is a 9. He checks and I decide to check.

River card is a K giving me the high straight. He bets the pot like 750.

My mistake is raising him to around 1750 and then he pushed all in and I called.

He shows QQ, four of a kind. LOL!
