I was exaggerating, obviously, but what I mean is they're probably a relatively bare-bones operation that doesn't exactly have a crack team assigned to fulfill customer requests and fix the bugs that affect our playing experience, but not their bottom line.

Also, has anyone seen any listings for all the new jobs here in good ol' NJ that this venture was supposed to create?

Basically agree. Party's anonymous tables are a "feature". You might like them; not sure I do. But it quite intentional.

Having said that, I suspect Party programmers, however many there are, are not the most qualified in the world. That is about as nice as I can say it.

Not so subtle brag: Final tabled the 888 $10,000 freeroll twice in a week for $975 total profit. Dec 10th: Finished 4th out of 486 for $425. Tonight finished 3rd out of 533 for $450. I'm YouPayMyRent on 888 and Party Poker. Does anyone know when they will run these $10,000 freerolls til? They have to be the easiest tourn ever. And you basically get an entry each night, if you play five mtts on 888 the previous night.

If you're here to move the conversation forward, great. But if you're just going to continue bitching about not being able to see tables and keep repeating how you can play at other sites and pay "optional" taxes, it's probably time to move along.

Well, I think we've only scratched the surface on some important topics and look forward to future lively debate. We all want this to be a success. But just being able to play is not a success in my mind. We can't just go through the motions and accept whatever is put on our plate imo

bwin.party had a few open and WSOP was hiring some reps in NV to work positions related to NJ. Not nearly as many as there should be though. Theyre painfully understaffed too.

For people who say they can see many wifi networks with their phone but few or none with their wifi adapter, I have a somewhat advanced technical thought as to a potential why (I am not home right now to check for sure) .

I have the same issue in my apartment where my cell and tablet can see many networks but my usb wifi adapter only sees a few. I am wondering if this might be because many phones nowadays can search for 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks. My USB adapter only works with 2.4ghz networks. If you have the option on your smartphone (which most current android phones and tablets should have, not sure about apple) be by your computer and set your wifi options to 2.4ghz only and see if you only see the same networks as your wifi adapter. If this is the reason than I assume buying a 5ghz compatible USB wifi adapter would help those with issues.

Of course it could also be that if you bought a dirt cheap USB wifi adapter it's simply not stromg enough to detect signals from a farther distance.

I dont suggest anyone spend any money on my suggestions until they are certain they have to.

Keep up the good work

I don't see you headed to a casino anytime soon. That's is good news for you.

LOL, I halted it after a while, but afterwards, I had a welcome e-mail and my account was good to go!

BTW, I'm pretty happy with Borgata and just hoping to see a larger player pool develop.
The cash games are good. I haven't done any tournies. No geo-loc issues for a week now.
I'll be going to the Shops at Riverside Mall in Hackensack today or tomorrow and see if I can play from there.

Today we had a debate on what was causing the decline of online poker. Quite clearly it is due to a saturated mature market and not "bumhunting". So for Party/Borgata to grab and keep market share it is all about the product and support. Something that is severely lacking. Put the focus where it belongs imo

This is useful information. But go back to the 1,000th post about the wifis or whateva lmao
The "decline" is a strange concept.
Back when it wasn't legal (according to the DOJ) it was like the Wild West. Anyone could play almost anywhere during the Paradise era, and then there was the FTP/PS era where anyone could play at those two sites.
It's the new beginning and regulation that set things WAY back, complicated player pools by dividing them into small legal pockets, and is generally less attractive than the Wild West.

I don't think for one second that the decline is due to fishies going busto.

Congrats on your run. I played with you a few nights ago in the 10k and if it wasn't for a sick beat there's a chance I would have been at the table with you.

Agreed that these are great tournaments. I'm no pro and maybe just running well but I'm enjoying my results so far.

888 had a notice on the site yesterday that they would be down for maintenance today, December 17th. WSOP probably had the same because they are affiliated..

Ultimate does have times when zero players are on board, similar to Betfair where it happens until about 2:15 PM when they start running their free rolls.

Nice, I have a couple of 12th place finishes

And I'm not sure if it was a glitch or not...but I could buy into $20 SNGs using my free $1 tickets. (Looks like that party is over) At one point I won 4 in a row. So last week I deposited $10 and now have over $1,000. 888 is getting my business imo

I think there are plenty of positives in this launch, but I also think a lot of people are fooling themselves into thinking it's exactly what we wanted, when it falls wayyyyyy short.
Also, no matter what the layout and features, they won't satisfy everyone.

I agree on pipes, too. I think he has some good points/ideas, more bad ones, and lousy presentation. So I just put him on ignore.

I made two finals myself last week for a little more than $600. Also won a smaller tourney that I entered just to get two more entry tickets.

(Apologize for the brag, but I just had to.)

Per a tweet from WSOP, the maintenance was actually for geo-comply's software. That explains why so many sites were down. Maybe we'll see some improvements....

went to NJ last week - thegood/bad imo

i had no problems opening and installing software in NY before i left for NJ

was only able to deposit via ACH on borgata, i had to go to cage to put money on WSOP as no other deposit method worked for me(start to finish this took about 40 minutes)

was able to play from Bally's using long distance WIFI antenna/device

lobby on borgata needs improvement - trying to join tables puts you on empty table if no open seat that second and you can't get on wait-list

WSOP not offering HHs is a problem from a basic game integrity/protection stand point

i was kicked off both sites a few times over 4 days due to "location" issues but i was able to close/reopen poker client and get right back on

best thing = lots of tables and good action

so my deposit went through on 888 using Wells Fargo and the ACH option. just to let anyone know that has wf.

Q for any one that has deposited on 888 how long until you start getting these daily challenge emails?

And do we have a definite stop date for these 10k free rolls? I just got 5 more tix and ive only played it 2x so far. I noticed theystopped running those 100$ free rolls so im worried the 10k will end soon.

since brilliant started the brag ill add to it. I cashed in the 10k too. no FT but 23/411 for 125$. hope I get to play at least 10 more of those.
