I've been geolocated in NJ for the first time since the beginning of the soft play period !!! Here's the background and hope it works for others.

First of all, all credit goes to the poster here whose post talked about contacting his ISP and getting his IP address changed resulting in him getting found. If I could find the post, I would credit him by name. I will, but I wanted to get this out right away b/c it may help others.

My location - middle of Essex county. When I previously checked where my IP address was located, the results were always either in the correct town or the one next to me.

My set up - desktop without built in wifi, FIOS internet coming into the second floor of the house into the verizon wireless modem and then hardwired out of the modem into the PC tower. The modem is sending a wifi signal thru the house for an iPad. I also have a range extender on the first floor to bump the modem's signal. After reading some earlier posts, I also bought a USB wifi adapter a few days ago and plugged it into my tower. That didn't help. So, now there are 3 wifi signals generated in my house, the verizon modem, the plug in adapter and the range extender. I have always been able to see 4-6 other networks in my neighborhood.

After reading a previous post by a writer calling his ISP to get his ip changed and having success being found by geolocation, I figured wtf and called verizon this morning to do the same. They said no problem to do. They said after they send the instructions to their servers, I needed to unplug their wireless modem for 30 seconds, plug back in and the new address should be in place. They did, I did and a new address appeared. Was running late for a departure on a day trip and didn't try poker site access until I returned home a few minutes ago. All four worked !! Borg, Party, WSOP and 888.

Cause and effect ? Beats me - I don't have any technical knowledge. However, all I know is I'm connected tonight and wanted to share ASAP in case this can help anyone else.

Good luck.

In terms of free rolls 888 is way ahead with $20gtds every two hours as will a special free rolls so i wouldn't say they are way behind. Betfair is DOA. Party/Borg is ahead in every aspect. Its funny during beta ultimate told me i wouldn't be able to use the sign up bonus because i deposited 20 bucks during beta. I inquired again about this yesterday and they told me i could use it because they are desperate for members. Clearly borg/party and wsop are way ahead but 888 is def not in the danger category as ultimate and betfair. Tbh golden nugget can save money by not bothering with a poker client atm ai don't see them taking any customers away.

I think party/borgata wins for cash games and WSOP for tournaments. Like someone mentioned above the 27r/10K gtd and 11r/5K gtd everyday has some sick overlays and great structure at WSOP.

Unless we see PS approved anytime soon, these two are going to be clear winners.

Are you comparing the tournaments listed on Party's website or what is in the lobby? Because it seems to me Party/Borgata has a much more robust tournament schedule. It just hasn't started yet. The Sundays are bigger and more of them, most the nightly's are bigger, what am I missing?

Is anyone else (still) having graphical trouble with Borgata? I still can't see most text on the client. I've tried uninstalling and and installing with no luck. Tech support has never gotten back to me.

No clue, I wasn't and have deposited and cashed out. I'm not from NJ and this was on Party/Borgata.

Maybe it has something to do with verifying your social? I know that when you fill out a credit application they sometimes have you answer questions about addresses, relatives, etc, etc, to verify your identity.

It is only Borgata/Party Poker. It does not make sense because you don't actually need to live in the state to play. You only have to be in the state when you play.

Edit:

I would agree about verifying identity but a Driver's License is not being accepted. Other information combined like social security card, passport, etc should work but Borgata/Party Poker are being stubborn.

LOL, this is just the beginning.
I'm really excited by these numbers. As word of mouth/advertising increases and (hopefully) the geolocation process improves the numbers will only climb higher. 5k sometime soon-ish doesn't seem much of a reach.

I suspect they do this when initial identity verification check fails. On one of the sites, I entered my current address, but whatever databse/info source they were working off, had my old one.....it did not match ....so they asked me for additional info....and then I was approved.....

This is just my guess.

My guess as well. I worked in finance for a few years and anytime someone's address didn't match up to whatever database they used it would generate a list of 10 questions for them to answer before I could submit their information.

I saw ads at like 1am the other night for Ultimate Casino and I think I saw one for Party Poker too. It was super exciting.

Really disappointed I didn't hear the old 'ooooooh Party Pokah' hook though. Bring it back Party!

Is anyone getting a time bank button on Borgata? I thought I saw it appear once, but I don't see it anymore. It's only giving me 20 seconds to act, and that's not very much time when trying to play several 6-max tables. As soon as the 20 seconds is up, my hand is mucked.

I thought I must be on some turbo tables or something, but I don't even see the little icons indicating that anymore. There used to be a legend at the bottom of the lobby showing the various table-type icons, but I don't see that anymore either.

I was playing a few tables earlier at which we were getting 200 hands per hour, but later in the day, the tables I was going at a more "normal" rate. Maybe everyone at the earlier tables was just acting quickly. Still no time bank option at any of them, though.

I searched the thread but could not find an answer. My friend will be visiting me for a couple weeks in December. I wanted to know if anyone knows yet if we both login to a site from my house with the same IP address if we will be allowed to play at the same time or at the same table? Mostly play on Borgata.

Also, does anyone know if Party Poker will update the lobby and software to allow us to pick the table and seat we want to sit at? Or was this done on purpose for some reason?

Think about it...

1 cent rake for every 18 cents in the pot.
