My Pokerstars account in Thailand My Pokerstars account in Thailand

Hey

I have been living 6 months UK 6 months Thailand for several years now and had no problems with my UK Pokestars account until last year in Thailand when Pokerstars told me I could no longer play in Thailand using my uk based account.

I know there are several players playing in Thailand now and I am wondering if they have 2 Pokerstars account for the 2 geographies. I think that is what Pokerstars support suggested as an option but it was not exact clear

I have a Thai bank account and the necessary visa (non O) and an address there in Thailand. Is that all I need to open a second account, or is it more difficult . Obvs I don't want to upset their terms and conditions.

Thanks for any help you can give

They want you to submit documents to change your current account to a thai address. Do not open a second pokerstars account. You may run into the same issue when you're back in the UK. You can use your account while traveling to other countries that allow pokerstars without changing and verifying the address, but if you stay long enough they'll eventually require you to do it.

thanks. Do you have any idea how long you have before they ask for it?

Best to open a bank account at kasikorn bank with your UK passport. Then send stars your lease and bank statement. Make sure you ask the banker for a printed statement. Be prepared for no access to stars for a few days. At least that was my experience years ago.

Thanks. Did you maintain your other Pokerstars account, and if so, was there any problems having two accounts for each jurisdiction?

Do not open a second pokerstars account. They'll update your address registered on your current account to a Thai address.
