Unfortunately the same issue will be with your card so maybe best option is to change your account currency to CAD?

Dave , can u confirm there's no EUR conversion if I withdraw to crypto with usd ?

Because The FAQ still says it is:

"Sending funds from your MuchBetter account to your crypto wallet costs 2%. This fee is deducted by MuchBetter to cover our payment costs.

Additionally, our payment provider is processing transactions in EUR only. It means that there can be an additional 4 % fee applied for the currency conversion"

from https://support.muchbetter.com/hc/en...-cryptowallet-

Thanks for ur reply.

Didn't tryed because of the conversion.

I will try to withdraw to usdt once you or muchbetter confirms theres no exchange to EUR first and uses TRC20 (tron chain) which is cheap.

I can withdraw to other coin aswell if theres no conversion to EUR first.

Thanks for your time.

Lithuania has cracked down on dodgy payment providers based there, it doesn't look good. MB debit cards have been cancelled, withdrawals don't seem reliable. No response at all to support tickets (and no longer an ability to raise support tickets in the app, have to find it on the website).

We would like to thank you for your patience and provide you with an update on our EEA operation and the status of your account with us.

When you opened your account with us you agreed to UAB Payrnet’s underlying Terms Of Services. The reason for this was that we had the legal and regulatory rights to operate in the EEA as per our agreement with UAB Payrnet.

Unfortunately, the agreement between UAB Payrnet and UAB MIR Lithuania came to a sudden unilateral end by UAB Payrnet as directed by their regulatory body, the Bank of Lithuania. Following the end of the agreement, we have been forced to stop our operations in your country.

As far as we know UAB MIR Lithuania is one of a few dozen companies whose relationship has been terminated by UAB Payrnet.

How does this impact your account balance?

UAB Payrnet is an authorized E-Money institution, supervised by the Bank of Lithuania, and as part of its regulatory requirements, it must protect all customers' funds. This is done by keeping those funds in a segregated account, which is separate from their operational funds. That means that your funds are safe and secure.

We have contacted UAB Payrnet several times asking when our customers’ funds can be released so that you can withdraw your money. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for a reply. MuchBetter is even willing to pay you from its own funds but for this, approval from UAB Payrnet and the regulatory authorities will be required.

What can you do?

You can lodge a complaint against UAB Payrnet to release your funds via email to complaints@payr.net or by completing a form available here. Your complaint will have to be investigated by UAB Payrnet within 15 (fifteen) working days. In an exceptional case, where the complaint cannot be dealt with in time, UAB Payrnet will inform you. In any case, the processing of your complaint cannot exceed 35 working days.

If you are a consumer and the reply from UAB Payrnet does not satisfy you or you do not receive a reply in time, you have the right to apply with a complaint in Lithuanian or English language to the Bank of Lithuania at any time now and up to one year from your original inquiry, in one of the following ways:

1. Through an electronic dispute settlement facility e-Government Gateway; by completing a consumer application form available here or filling out a free-form application and sending it to the Legal and Licensing Department of the Bank of Lithuania Žalgirio g. 90, LT-09303, Vilnius, email: prieziura@lb.lt.

2. Or, by filing out a free-form application and sending it to the Legal and Licensing Department of the Bank of Lithuania Žalgirio g. 90, LT-09303, Vilnius, email: prieziura@lb.lt.

More information on the dispute settlement procedure at the Bank of Lithuania can be found here.

Meanwhile, we are sorry we cannot provide you with more information at this stage but please rest assured that we are doing the best we can to allow you to access your funds as soon as possible.

Disclaimer: Due to the priority of this matter and the fact that we wanted to keep you updated as soon as possible, we are replying to your query in English only. We apologize in advance but if you wish to translate it into other languages, we suggest using verified translation services available online, however, we do not guarantee the quality, proper context, or accuracy of these translations.

hey , are there any other people in Europe who have their funds frozen for months now on the muchbetter payment app?

Dear MuchBetter Customer,

We would like to thank you for your patience and provide you with an important update on the status of your account with MuchBetter via the electronic money institution UAB Payrnet.

On 22 June, 2023 the Bank of Lithuania (BoL) made this announcement stating that the BoL has decided to revoke UAB Payrnet’s license and initiate bankruptcy proceedings due to severe and continuous breaches by UAB Payrnet of regulatory requirements applicable to UAB Payrnet including anti-money laundering, reporting, safeguarding customers’ funds, sanctions and other requirements.

What does it mean to you:
As per our previous communication to you, as a licensed financial institution, UAB Payrnet must protect all customers’ funds by keeping them in a segregated account, separate from their operational funds.
The BoL has stated that UAB Payrnet is aware of its current liabilities towards clients (which includes you) and these funds are in fact safeguarded in separate dedicated accounts according to the information that has been made available to the BoL. It is important to note that no other creditors of UAB Payrnet will be entitled to direct their claims to these funds. We are not able to check or know whether UAB Payrnet has sufficient funds in these dedicated accounts that correspond to its liabilities towards its customers, however the above statement made by the BoL should at least give some comfort.

In the last few days, we tried to work directly with UAB Payrnet to find solutions that would streamline the process of settlement and allow you to get your money quicker .

Unfortunately, this did not work and as a result, and under law, UAB Payrnet is obligated to settle with you within 15 business days of the day of revocation of its license, i.e. no later than the 14th of July.

In the exceptional circumstances, if UAB Payrnet is unable to settle with its customers within the given time, it shall inform the BoL of the same and specify another term for settlement with customers. This term cannot be later than 2 months after revocation of the license, i.e. 22nd of August.

What should you do:
The BoL stated that UAB Payrnet‘s clients must apply for their refunds to UAB Payrnet directly. UAB Payrnet is obliged to contact its clients, including you, with information about the applicable settlement procedure no later than 5 business days from today, i.e. until and including the 29th of June.

This means that in the coming days you should receive information from UAB Payrnet about your refund and how to apply to UAB Payrnet.

Alternatively, you may immediately apply to UAB Payrnet for your refund. In this case you should specify to UAB Payrnet your MuchBetter account balance (i.e. your claim towards UAB Payrnet) and the details of the other bank account or electronic money account to which you would like the refund to be made. We would also like to stress that the abovementioned BoL’s statement also mentioned that in some cases UAB Payrnet was not even aware of account balances of its customers, therefore we would advise you to also attach a screenshot of your MuchBetter wallet balance held at UAB Payrnet or any other document that would show your current balance to your refund request.

We advise that you direct any refund requests to the following publicly available UAB Payrnet email addresses: info-vilnius@payr.net and complaints@payr.net. We would also advise you copying the BoL in your refund request to UAB Payrnet (the email address of the BoL is prieziura@lb.lt).
