Not the nicest way to write a first post here.
But today im not feeling very good.
I wasnt able to log in on my hotmail and it smelled bad, I checked my Moneybookers account almost right away, cause this is the first time it says the password was wrong even though it wasnt imo.

Same thing, Moneybookers password is invalid. Gets sweaty from thim monent on..
I call to customer service and they inform me that yesterday there was made 3 withdrawals total 24k euros. They just left some money for the rent.

Im feel so f*cking bad I dont know what to do. Usually I dont have any money in Moneybookers but this time I had withdrawed one of my rolls from one site.

They said they are investigating it but i've also read the old topics here, I dont feel good. This is so sick I cant even describe it.

dont know what to say. reading these threads have made me not to keep any money on moneybookers. if i cashout from a site i withdraw it to my bank account or move it to another site immeaditely.

i have heard some stories where people have gotten back atleast part of their monies so you are not done yet

just get all the info you can from them and keep pressing them to try to get your money back

good luck

Yes I will try that. But I was so disappointed the way they handled this. They say that maybe they inform me back today, I say can you please call me cause bot my email adresses are hacked, they say they try to call but can you give another email adress in case they cant call! Jesus, is 'just' 24 000€, ok you dont have to call me! Incredible.

Well they didnt inform me today suprisingly. I was thinking, maybe its no use at all, but I think if they seem lazy etc. Im at least going to say that I call to every paper there is to make sure this gets public. Heh, maybe its too childish.

Im waiting to get some info tomorrow but I feel pretty confident there is nothing to do anymore. This is so sad. I've been improving my game and done very well on the tables, lots because of my good bankroll management and then this hits me, it's unbelievable...

This is just terrible. I hope you get your money back.

I was wondering how did they managed to withdraw?
AFAIK you are unable to withdraw anywhere else then to your CC or bank account with your name on it?

Did you check your computer for any keyloggers/trojans since you got hacked?

Change your passwords on all the poker rooms you play in on a clean computer ASAP.

you can ship the monies to another moneybookers account in a few seconds. all you need is the account holders date of birth

yes, but the OP said they withdraw the money not that it was sent to different accounts. might be just a miss-understanding of 'withdraw'

oh okay

yea i dont think you can withdraw the monies anywhere that fast. maybe ship to some newly made poker account and then chip dump to another

This is very lame, sorry OP.

Anyone who is playing for this kind of money should have a seperate computer that is used only for poker. No web browsing, email or anything else. Losing your roll can end your career, protect yourself.

Of course it was my fault that all my other accounts (including Neteller and all poker accounts) have not been hacked but only MB. Let me think, maybe they guessed my PW ? Hmmm.... No. Or could you guess sth like $DfJ§$2n. Probably not.

I am sorry you were hacked and am not trying to be rude. If you follow the advice in this thread it will not happen again.

This sucks man I can imagine how bad you're feeling. Like others said just keep pressing them to get your money back.

Good luck

they should make it harder for people to withdraw such huge amounts of money... (like would have call them perhaps...?)

Like alarms don't go off when large withdrawals are made shortly after a password change.

NO withdrawals for 72 hours (or more) after a password change.

Sounds too easy.

so are all these hackings solely because people are using hotmail accts? gmail, yahoo etc is fine?
Quote

this is why all emails should include a lockout period after a certain amount of attempts, like maybe 5.

sorry to hear that

Well I must say, I feel horrible. Like said imo the Moneybookers securite cautions are a big joke. Unluckily I didnt realise this before to prevent it happening. I dont know how I will manage to just forget this thing if I dont get any money back.. I will keep pressing them, just not really much hope left cause I think the hackers r good enough to hide their traces..

I heard gmail was the best for security purposes.

But I think you can use any kind of e-mail, as long as the e-mail address and the password are random and secure.

Good luck finding out that my poker-related e-mail account is eg63knm2lp9fhnqlfpq1hhj@hotmail.com

By the way, I assume your MB account had a different password than you e-mail account? Can they just require a new MB password and it is shipped to your e-mail without verifying anything? Meaning that hacking e-mails account ==> hacking MB account is automatic?

People really need to make sure that financial accounts are not linked to Hotmail email accounts in any way. So many different types of accounts are stolen from after Hotmail accoutns are hacked.

good Luck OP, but if it was your email account that was hacked and not your MB account, I don't think MB can be held responsible. Although I do agree that a password change followed by large transactions should immediately flag up something on the account.
