This is 100% industry standard nowadays. It's not as if they are asking you to deposit $5,000 USD. A simple min deposit of $10 will link your ewallet account to your player account and open up withdrawals.
When I moved to Canada I had to do this with all of the ewallets I use. I deposited $10, then
instantly went to the withdrawal page and requested max withdrawls. This is how the system works at Merge (both cashiers) and at virtually every other online card room in operation today.

Exactly. Do you think the whole of Merge's player funds are sitting in a Skrill merchant account for you? Or more likely might they be spread out across the dozen payment processors they use? Try using any of the other half dozen ewallets offered... instadebit, neteller, click2pay, webmoney, etc etc. You will likely see faster results than everyone else trying to cram all the money through Skrill.
