I already have money online, but I was looking into doing a minimum deposit so I can get an invite to UMW. I went to WU and was going to do it online as you describe, but I had to confirm my account that I created on WU. Did you have to do that? To confirm my account they have to send me a verification code through the mail. It didn't sound right to me, but since I wasn't needing to deposit to actually play, I haven't looked into much more.

Did you already have an account at WU? If not were you able to create your account and process a transaction immediately?

I did not have an account. When I created my WU account online it gave me the option to either have someone call me to verify my account or text me. I clicked the text option and within about 10 seconds I had a text with my verification code. I entered it online as I was good to go.

i actually dont know how to get an invite to UMW. i kind of got one for being such a baller at FTP. (after a horrendous check request snafu at FTP, i refused to deal with the BS everyone seems to be going through when requesting checks. ftp lost the check, i had to wait the full 6 week period to be sure the check was 'lost'. cancel the check, wait for the money to get back to FTP, re-request the check. in the meantime, i needed dough, so i had asked for a different check to hedge the timing of the first... blah blah.)

in short, i would gladly pay the $30 to umw and the $15 for the wire-transfer than to wait weeks and wonder about my dough. like the one guy said, line up to blow whoever you have to for a umw invite. i dont like to make super small withdrawals--i try for $4k at a time and the fees are like 1.x%. anywho....

so far, the umw people have good experiences it seems. im hoping some others can speak up about carbon, lock, etc. with exact dates and deposit/withdrawal information so i can finally pull the trigger and make a new account. plus, even though my usemywallet already exists, am i going to have to do verification with carbon?

Thanks Lempke. After I read your article I went back to WU and read about it and they do have 3 ways to verify: Phone Call, Text, Mail. It says that it tries to match the information provided to their records and then it will offer you the methods that you can use to validate the account. Unfortunately, for some reason some people don't get the option for a Text or Phone call if the information doesn't match their records.

Obviously, this is the case with me. The good news is that I was only going to do the Deposit to get a UMW invite because I have never made a traditional deposit and have done multiple Cashouts. I done a player to player Transfer months ago and you can only get a UMW invite after making a normal deposit. I'm going to do a minimum deposit just so I have the option for UMW so waiting for the 2-4 days for the validation code isn't a big deal for me.

I'm in the US. I was just able to make a deposit onto pdc with my visa debit card. You have to call your bank first and let them know you will be making an international purchase and you just want to make sure it will go through. They will ask when and how much, no need to say its for poker as the transaction comes through encoded anyway. Strange international purchases are normally flagged by the banks security system, but if you call you bank first and do it during your banks business hours they can manually override the system to allow the transaction. Hope this helps.

Have you successfully done a WU transfer online yet? I'm trying to transfer $1k from my checking account, but encountering a problem. It says the fee should be $74 for an instant transfer from CC, and only $10 for a 3-day xfer from a checking account. But when I try to do the latter, it lists the fee as $74. WU customer service was no help. I'm not paying a $74 fee for a $1k transfer. Did you encounter the same problem?

If I use the ******** prepaid VISA card, do I need to wait for my real card to arrive in the mail first before I can deposit on Merge?

Or if I use WU, is it definite that I have to wait until I receive verification snail mail from WU until my funds will be able to be deposited into Merge? I have no landline phone, just a cell.

It's best in most cases to do WU in person. Yes, it common for WU to charge more to use a credit card. Just bring cash to a near by location and you can do up to 1k for $12 and have money credited to your pokersite with usually an hour, sometimes minutes.

For online I think there's a sign up process and all kinds of things they need to verify. For in person you don't even need to show ID. Unless your socially phobic or don't have a WU location near you, I would recommend just going to the nearby major grocery store and doing it there.

As for all these players with deposit and withdrawal problems: the cashiers that your skins use are not maybe the best. That being said, there are not a lot of "slam dunk" workarounds for this as the Jizelle skins (these are probably the ones with the best cashier) are cutting US players off.

Also, you guys have to learn to be more creative these days. Here is an idea: set up more than one Merge account so that you can move the money, via an ewallet, to a skin where someone that you want to trade with is on so that you can do trades more easily. You are allowed to have accounts on a bunch of different skins, just don't play on these other skins b/c you wont have rakeback. Again, this is just an idea and there may be some technicalities.

Cliffs: with a lot of the skins that you guys play on, money is not that liquid. Either don't play there or be creative with workarounds.

im on lock and had a UMW cashout requested for over a week now. yesterday i got an email saying my cashout was cancelled and returned to my account because i havent sent in the verification paperwork (which i did ~5 business days ago). now the only cashout option i see is check, UMW is gone. anyone else having this problem?
