Stars will simply read the names of the players participating in this thread and send an email warning that this sit out is a form of collusion against TOS.

They will then warn you that you will be suspended or have your SN / SNE at risk if you participate.

Players who block tables will be warned or have their accounts suspended during the duration of the protest. Kinda like Occupy Wall street, but now Occupy Stars.

Players back down and life will go on as usual.

You can change your avatar anytime you want, you just need to email support and ask them to let you do it. Then after you have changed it, just email them again and ask them politely to approve it. The avatar should be more of a symbol of a red X of anarchy or something like that and should not insult Stars directly or they will not approve it I think.

-->>>EDIT: well, In the rake awareness thread apparently said that its not allowed that many players have the same avatar so I don't know about this one anymore. Could be bad, dont know.

Even if 100% of 2p2 sitsout that represents what, 2% of the total PS player pool?

Changes are only good if you play below NL10...

While I hate these changes too, does anyone here actually think Stars will listen to us? We may be a large group but we pale in significance as a portion of the actual Stars player base.

What about HU? What if you play only HU 100NL and above?

jan 1st is prob not best day to do it. lots of ppl will be hungover etc, traffic will be lower. best to aim for something like 1 day after PCA ends or a couple of days before it begins

that being said, i'll do it when everybody else does, i just don't think the date is optimal. Not sure about the time either, is 12pm est a time when there's lots of traffic?

Also, IMO, we should prepare a short sentence that every player can copy/paste in chat so randoms/non 2p2 will know what's going on

each player sitting out on 24 tables is gonna be a big pain in the ass.

Countdown To pokerstars sit-out

As you probably heard by now, stars changed their rake system from dealt to WC and even worse they also increased rake cap @ 5 players for 50%

Most of us already understand that this changes are bad for everyone BUT pokerstars. It doesn't matter if you are NIT,TAG or LAG you will pay more rake and get less rakeback it's as simple as that.

We will be starting mass sit-out on January 1st that will go on until stars reverse changes. Below are reasons why you should not only observe but also join us:

Shorthanded stars players:

We will be hurt the most, with rake cap change we will be paying A LOT more rake then before. Exact numbers are impossible to guess but let me give you example from another post:

Quote:

Here's the basic breakdown:

Breakdown of hands:
2 Handed = 0.4% of hands (No rake change)
3 Handed = 1.5% (50% Increase)
4 Handed = 7.0% (25% Decrease)
5 Handed = 29.3% (50% Increase)
6 Handed = 61.9% (No rake change)

So for me, this is nothing but a rake hike, when I already play a game where even the best players are paying 3 times in rake (or more) than what they take home in profit.

Thanks a lot Pokerstars.
Most of us play ~30% of hands 5way and rake in this pots is going to be increased by 50% - For me this is unacceptable.

########################################

Full-ring stars players:

You guys already know that you will loss a lot in rakeback but as you can see due to rake cap increase for 5 player hands a lot of us will be switching from SH to FR if those changes go trough. This means even worse ratio of regular:fish in FR games.

Pokerstars LAGs:

I hear some players saying that this will really hurt NITs but tags and especially LAGs will loss just a little and with games potentially getting softer it could break-even.

WRONG!!! Check SNE and Stars official changes page and you will see that even players with VPIP around 20 at FR and SH players with around 30VPIP are still reporting at least 10% losses.

But how about games getting softer?

Sorry but pretty much all other sites changed rake from dealt to WC and majority can tell you that the games didn't get all that softer(few regulars might left but thats it), others will just adept one way or another.

It was different when FTP made changes because players at least had stars to escape to but now there are very few sites to go(more below).

MTT,SNG and players from other sites:

As I said before, some players will left CG and either start playing more tournaments or just switch to your site so this is bad for you as well. Obviously not nearly as bad as for stars cash-game players but still.

Furthermore THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO SHOW ALL POKER SITES THAT THEY CAN'T JUST MESS WITH US AND EXPECT TO GET AWAY WITH IT !

We will wait until time this VPP year is over so we don't mess our SNE friends plans. We need to be organized so below is countdown:

Countdown To pokerstars sit-out

Please forward this thread to your friends and link it around so we get the word out to all regulars.

I'd support a protest agaisnt rake increase, but not against WC rake calculation.
Dealt method is just unfair.

It's not just 2p2 that sits out guys. This topic is obviously spreading like wildfire through all the websites. I posted in the Dutch version of Pokerstrategy and I'm pretty sure someone will post it on the other language-forums as well. If you're from Germany/Russia/wherever and you also post on Pokerstrategy, make sure you open a topic there. It's not gonna be 51 like you have now, this has the potential to be 1000 people or more.

I'm in. Will be blocking midstakes PLO.

IMO everyone should sit shortstacked at a limit above what they normally play. that way we get better value for money (aka more rake lost for PS)

Maybe have the first protest on Jan 1st then more during the next 2weeks during PCA and after. The time seems decent as it will be evening time in europe/night time in east-europe so peak times where most players are based.
