I wanted to know a very simple thing before making a deposit. They refuse to answer unless I provide the first two letters of my password.
Am I overreacting or is this just plain horrible customer support?

Chat Session
Bill has joined.
Louis Cyphre: Does Littlewoods only offer accounts in GBP?
Bill: Welcome to Littlewoods Gaming Live Chat! We are glad to be of service. Whilst I try to locate your account with your given email address, please confirm the first 2 characters of your password.
Louis Cyphre: I am not comfortable giving out parts of my password. Why is this necessary and why do you even have access to my password?
Bill: 1. we ask this to make sure you own the account
Bill: 2. i can only see the first 2 characters
Bill: 3. it is for your security
Bill: 4. I cannot give you answers until you confirm this
Louis Cyphre: I find that highly unusual.
Bill: it is our standard practice
Bill: please confirm the first 2 characters of your password
Louis Cyphre: You are the only site I am aware of where support has any access to my pw.
Also, I asked a question that is totally unrelated to my account.
Bill: it is still our standard practice
Bill: please confirm the first 2 characters of your password
Louis Cyphre: I was about to make a deposit and if you aren't willing to answer even a simple question without making me jump through hoops I get the impression you are not interested in my business.
Bill: sorry, if I do not ask this question every time then a member may say he was not asked last time he contacted us
Bill: you would expect us to protect your interests so
Bill: this is how we do it
Louis Cyphre: So if I dont have an account you refuse to answer any questions about your pokerroom?
Bill: you will be asked this every time you contact us by chat or phone
Bill: but you do have an account
Louis Cyphre: What if someone does not have an account yet?
Bill: you have an account so I need to go through our security procedure
Louis Cyphre: Ridiculous.
Bill: please confirm the first 2 characters of your password
Louis Cyphre: I post this on 2+2 now. Let's see what they think of your customer friendliness.
Bill: Can I be of any further assistance to you today?
Louis Cyphre: further assistance? you havent been of any so far
Bill: if you are unwilling to tell me the first 2 characters of your password then I need to end this chat, sorry
Bill: As I have had no response from you, our chat session will be ended, please contact us again should you need any further assistance.
Bill has left.

Good thing you ran into this before making a deposit. Either somebody is scamming or the people running the place are too clueless to trust with your money. There is absolutely no reason that any site or service provider should ever need to ask for anything concerning your password to sufficiently verify the account since alternate methods that work just as well have been standard for at least 15 years. If support isn't knowledgeable enough to set up an alternate system then they aren't competent enough to get your business.

Back in the Full Contact Poker days their support page didn't offer any means to change your password so I emailed them & they responded with a security questionnaire with my 5 security questions (personal stuff that I would only know the answers); one of the questions was a combo asking for my current login ID & password.

I responded by telling them I couldn't give them all that information via an unsecured email & wouldn't give them my current password anyway. A few hours later I received a call (strange 866 number) asking me for my FCP User ID & password and again I refused to give them my current password. Furthermore, I would never give them a new password so they could change it as I feel only the user should create/know the password.

I subsequently just canceled the account.

It's the same on all sites in the Pacificnetwork.
It annoyed me, too, but I never had that much money on one of the sites, that I'd really care.
Imo the bigger problem is, that they don't allow special characters for your pw

Pacific has always been awful with this sort of thing. I played there a while a few years ago. May be things have changed recently but back then you got issued a (rather weak) password when you signed up and there was no way to change it. LOL. BTW last time I checked the rake cap there was $4. LOL x2. Stay away imo.

I seem to recall that Pacific was rake friendly in the
beginning (4-5 years ago)? $4 is lol, but €3 is the same.
Crypto even has £3 max rake...

Thats the same problem with every other site with € and £ tables as well...
Btw Pacifik even rake uncalled pots, so it would take a sick mother****er to play there.
